A major issue is currently causing problems for Anthem on Xbox One and PS4. The game can crash the console. Some players are worried that their console might suffer permanent damage. Sony has already responded in some cases.
What is happening on PS4 and Xbox One? The game can crash when trying to close the application. Such cases have already been reported on both consoles, with the PS4 seeming to be affected much more frequently.
Update, 18:14: PS4 players are advised not to quit the game directly via “Close Application”. This seems to be a possible trigger for the crash.

Where could the problem lie? There is currently a lot of speculation about the cause. The problem also reportedly occurs in individual cases with other games like Destiny 2 and is related to the error code CE-36329-3 on PS4. However, this is not displayed for everyone; often the console simply powers off completely.
So far, it does not seem like there is a way to avoid the problem. The error code description only states “Error executing system software.” We need to wait for statements from Sony, Microsoft, and Bioware.
Players turn to Sony, are angry
What are players worried about? Players are understandably angry and concerned about their consoles. After such a crash, it may happen that the console does not respond for a long time, and the controller cannot establish a connection either.
How Sony is responding, according to player reports: Due to the lack of a timely solution from BioWare, some fans have directly approached Sony for help.
In some cases, the purchase price of digital copies has been refunded within minutes, at least according to some players.
The user SoundAndFury writes: “Sony is aware of the issues. They offer a full refund for Anthem, no questions asked. It only took me 5 minutes.”
Is a refund for Anthem guaranteed? Other players report that they did not receive a refund. In one case, they were reportedly told to simply stop playing the game. So far, there is no clear policy in place.
So it is not guaranteed that Sony will refund the purchase price of Anthem. If the problem occurs for you, you can contact the PlayStation Support and try your luck.
What does Bioware say about this? In another Reddit post from March 1st, the user kinglippydipp already complained about the crashes.
Bioware employee Ben Irving replied, “We are looking into the crashes.” There has been no further information on this so far.
How players are reacting to the problems: Players are venting their frustrations in the subreddit of Anthem.
Many are also angry that the problem has existed since release and that Bioware still shows no reaction despite all the reports. The console doesn’t just crash; it powers off as if the plug were pulled. This is a serious issue that should take priority over any loot patches.

We will keep you updated on the problem. So far, there have been no official statements from Sony, so the reports should be taken with caution.
