The personnel changes at Blizzard don’t stop. Now the finance director is also leaving for a completely different company.
As previously suspected, there are several changes at Blizzard at the turn of the year and some positions are being filled anew. Especially in the executive ranks, it seems that people are being actively exchanged or voluntarily taking on new jobs.
After recently reporting that the CFO of Activision, Spencer Neumann, was suspended (or fired) and shortly thereafter started at Netflix, now another CFO from Blizzard is disappearing.
Who is leaving? The affected CFO (Chief Financial Officer) Amrita Ahuja. She has now left Blizzard to work for Square (not Square Enix), a provider of mobile payment processing. In the past, she had worked for other large companies, including Walt Disney, Morgan Stanley, and Fox Networks.
Many structural changes at Blizzard: In recent weeks, it seems there have been many personnel changes at Blizzard. Recently, 100 support team employees were encouraged to stop. Additionally, former CEO Mike Morhaime also announced his resignation at BlizzCon 2018. But reports also state that Blizzard wants to save a lot more money and is cutting resources nearly everywhere except for the pure development of games.
Whether the almost simultaneous change of the CFOs of Blizzard and Activision is just a coincidence or part of the apparently new corporate policy is not so easy to determine.
