The new Season 17 of Blizzard’s hack and slash Diablo 3 is coming, and the big patch will soon launch on the test server. Finally, there are significant changes again. This even leads some to want to reinstall the hack and slash.
What does the new Season bring? This time, fans of Diablo 3 can look forward to some significant changes. The fans are so excited that they plan to dive back into the action RPG. These include:
- Strengthening effect for Season 17: Each equipped ancient item increases your damage dealt and reduces your damage taken – as long as no set bonus is active.
- The new torment levels Torment 14, Torment 15, and Torment 16 provide even greater challenges
- New portals: The archaic weaving ring in Kanai’s Cube opens new portals to unknown locations
- Larger loot chest: PC players receive 5 additional loot chest slots, players on PS4 and Xbox One as well as on Switch get 140 additional slots.
- Most bounties are displayed directly. You can see them right upon entering the area.
- The defeated boss in the rift is marked. A ping indicates where the boss was defeated until you leave the rift
- Portals from treasure goblins are supposed to lead to interesting places
- The season journal shows you all chapters, regardless of your progress
The players are excited
How are the players reacting to these changes? The Diablo 3 fans are showing enthusiasm. Finally, Blizzard is implementing significant adjustments to the gameplay. Previous seasons had rather few changes in this regard.
Especially well-received are the increase in space in loot chests as well as the additional torment grades. The changes have rekindled interest in the game:
- Stirfryed1 comments on Reddit: “I have been a Diablo fan for years, but switched to Path of Exile. The changes of the new season are fantastic, and I will reinstall Diablo 3 because of that. A surprisingly good update!”
- Shadowfury22 explains: “I would never have believed that in 2019 I would be so excited about a Diablo 3 patch again. I hope this is not an April fool’s joke!”
However, there are also players who had hoped for even more. For example, adjustments to Legendary items and classes.
Trikalicious states in the official Diablo 3 forum: “The LoN season sounds fun, but I want to see more updates for the Legendary items to get more variety.”
However, the majority of Diablo 3 fans believe that the new season will be very interesting and that Diablo 3 is getting the best changes in a long time.
When will Patch 2.6.5 start? The update will be deployed on Friday, April 5, to the PTR servers of Diablo 3. Afterwards, the patch will be available for testing there for one week.
