16-year-old Aden “Zus” Atif from Great Britain struggled with his angry father during the Fortnite Championship Series. His father destroyed his monitor, but the stars of the scene quickly came to help.
This was the situation: The young Fortnite player was fighting for crucial points in the tournament. However, in the middle of a match, his angry father came in and destroyed his screen.
After the desperate boy shared the video on Twitter, two stars of the scene reached out and offered their help.
Fortnite pros provide the boy with a new monitor
This is the clip: On Zus’ Twitter profile, you can see at least the gameplay and hear the voices of the father and son:
The father was angry because he thought that Zus had broken a lamp in the bathroom (via Forbes). Zus maintained his innocence, but nonetheless, his angry father destroyed his monitor.
The whole thing happened in the middle of a round, and the son had built himself in and was hiding from opponents.
After his father was gone, he confessed the story to his teammates. His screen was broken, and he could only see half of it. Nevertheless, the young player put in a solid effort, and in the clip, you can still see two further eliminations, despite the damaged screen.
Later, Zus also posted a picture of his destroyed monitor on Twitter. Indeed, you can only see a jumble of pixels on the right side and no longer the actual image.
Zus then writes that he cannot afford a new monitor and will likely have to end his career.
What happened next? Zus’ tweet reached numerous Fortnite players, and several personalities from the scene also spoke up. Among them is James Banks. He is an esports host, commentator, and a well-known name in the scene.
Banks said he could hear Zus’ pain and would send him a monitor.
Another well-known figure to respond was Jaden “Wolfiez” Ashman. He won over a million dollars at the Fortnite World Cup and is signed with the organization Excel. He also wants to support the young player with a monitor. By the way, Wolfiez experienced a very similar situation. Before his breakthrough, his mother threw out his Xbox. Now he is a millionaire and even buys her a house.
For Zus, the action also brought further benefits. It gained him significantly more reach. Alone on Twitter, hundreds more followers have followed him since the clip. On Twitter, Zus thanks his community politely. He says: “Today, it turned from the worst day to the best.”
For another Fortnite player, things did not look so good lately. The pro Kona has apparently cheated his way into the tournament final. He called it an experiment, but Epic subsequently disqualified him from the tournament.
