The gaming year 2020 is the year of delays. What are you doing to bridge the current summer gap?
Games and content that have been delayed: Since the beginning of 2020, the gaming industry has been inundated with news about the delays of games and content.
At the end of 2019, it seemed that spring 2020 would be packed with new cool games. I saw on social media, reddit, and also here at MeinMMO, that people took vacation during this time to be able to play the games in peace. But unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
Many major games and content updates have received new release dates. This also affected those that were originally planned for summer or autumn 2020. These include:
- The highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 was first delayed to September and then to November 2020
- Marvel’s Avengers was originally supposed to be released in May and was postponed to September
- The release of the new big DLC from Destiny 2, “Beyond Light,” also slipped to November
- The new MMORPG New World from Amazon was first moved to August 2020 and then finally to spring 2021
- The fans of Final Fantasy XIV, who have always been used to regular content updates, had to wait for the next patch 5.3 2 months longer than usual
This is how it looks at MeinMMO: Here at MeinMMO, some employees are currently just as dry. Our brand manager Leya was looking forward to the beta of New World at the end of July, which unfortunately is now canceled.
Authors Phillip and Sven, along with all Destiny 2 players, have to wait for the delayed DLC “Beyond Light.”
But how about you? Are you annoyed that it feels like everything is being delayed or is it better that way? What are you doing instead in your free time? Do you have any special tips for those who are frustrated by all the delays? Let us know in the comments!
