The release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X is approaching, but according to an analyst, the Xbox stands no chance against the PS5. With a loyal user base and strong exclusives, Sony has two compelling arguments in favor of the PS5.

According to the head of Ampere Analytics, nothing has changed with the official announcement of the smaller model of the Xbox, the Xbox Series X. The PS5 has the better arguments.

Ampere Analytics cites two reasons why the PlayStation 5 is likely to succeed:
- On one hand, a whole series of strong exclusive games for the PlayStation 5 have been announced for the new generation. Microsoft’s head considers this exclusivity to be incorrect and is pursuing other paths.
- On the other hand, a factor called “global brand loyalty” plays a role. Sony has tied millions of users to its brand since the PS4 release in 2013, and these users have no reason to buy an Xbox.
In both cases, the PlayStation 5 is better positioned. While Microsoft allows its games to run on both the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X and therefore provides no reason to upgrade, you definitely need the new console for PS5 games.
Is there still hope for the Xbox Series X? Here, the company mentions one possibility, which is the price: While the official price of the Xbox Series X is known, we are still waiting for an official statement from Sony regarding the PlayStation. And this could be Microsoft’s advantage.
If the price is significantly above the buyers’ expectations, Microsoft could indeed attract buyers for its next-gen console. The price will likely be important for many in the end.
A user saved money and wants to buy PS5 consoles as a gift for himself and two friends. But this works only if the price is not too high.
