Corsair RM850x Shift – Making cable management a breeze
What upgrade has impressed me so much? When assembling the hardware, quality and a quiet operation were the most important to me. The RM850x Shift power supply from Corsair for my new gaming PC has completely convinced me in these aspects.
What makes the Corsair power supply so special? Furthermore, I am a big fan of well-cabled systems. It simply looks cleaner and also ensures better airflow in the PC case. And this is where the Corsair RM850x Shift shines. Thanks to the fully modular connections, only the power cables that you actually need in the computer need to be connected. Unused cables don’t even make their way into the computer. This saves you space and time during cabling.
Where are the power cables on conventional power supplies? Normally, most power supplies are constructed identically. The connection for the power cable to the socket is routed to the back of the PC and the power cables for the motherboard, graphics card, and other components are located inside.

I was able to save a lot of time during assembly and make my cable management even tidier.

Connecting high-end graphics cards like the Nvidia RTX 4090 is no problem thanks to the included PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR GPU cable. And the installed 140 mm fan ensures near-silent operation with its zero RPM mode when the power supply is under low load.
Does the power supply fit in any case? Regarding case compatibility, manufacturer Corsair states: “The power supply and cables fit in any PC case that supports the ATX power supply format and is at least 210 mm wide. The power supply must also be accessible from the side when mounted in the case.”
