The anime is a remake of a series that aired in the 90s on the anime program of RTL2. Disney+ has now announced that the series will soon premiere in a new edition on the streaming service.
What kind of anime is it? A Supertrio (originally: Cat’s Eye) first aired in Japanese television in 1983 and only made its way to Germany in 1995 through the RTL2 anime program. The original anime series concluded after 73 episodes, but is now getting a remake.

What has been announced? On X, Disney+ announced together with the original mangaka Tsukasa Hojo that the anime will be getting a new edition after about 40 years. However, Hojo is afraid of how the anime will be received by younger audiences. He knows, though, that the series still has numerous fans even after so many years.
When and where will the anime air? The remake is set to be released exclusively on Disney+ in 2025. The number of episodes that will be produced is not yet known.

What is the anime about? In The Supertrio, the three sisters Hitomi, Nami, and Love run a café called Cat’s Eye during the day. At night, however, they work as thieves stealing various artworks. The backstory: The artworks were created by their missing father, Michael Heinz, during World War II.
Their goal is to complete the collection. But standing in their way is the detective Toshio Utsumi. Hitomi is in a relationship with Toshio and can extract valuable information for their upcoming heists from him.
Their love relationship is repeatedly put to the test. However, this does not stop the acrobatic trio from stealing their German father’s artworks.
Is it worth watching the remake? As the anime is already 42 years old, the visuals are no longer up to date. Therefore, it might do the series good to receive a modern twist on the story. Thus, it could be worthwhile for anime fans who have never seen the series, as well as for fans of the original series, to watch The Supertrio.
Another plus: The song in the teaser trailer is sung by Ado. The Japanese singing talent has also contributed songs for One Piece Film: Red.
