The first raid of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is coming soon, Castle Nathria with its ten bosses. To prepare, some players have recreated the entire raid in a small game where a pineapple playfully explains how the mechanics work.
What kind of pineapple? Tactical Air Horse makes games where pineapples are at the center. More specifically: You play a pineapple yourself, all enemies are pineapples (or salmon), and fruits are generally heavily featured.
The latest game from the creators is “Castle Pineapplia”, a simplified version of the upcoming WoW raid Castle Nathria, which opens its doors to players on November 9.
The special thing about the game is that the mechanics of each boss from the raid are explained in an easily understandable way and played out in a shortened version of the fight. This way, you learn in a heavily simplified form what to expect in the actual raid.
Raid preparation with a browser game
How does it work? You can find the game on the official website of Tactical Air Horse for free as a browser game or available for download for a donation of your choice. In the menu, you can choose the boss you want to fight, only as the pineapple version.
The controls are quite easy: WASD or the arrow keys move your pineapple, the space bar triggers interactions and any other key shoots … well, small pineapples at the opponent to deal damage.

Is it really useful? Actually, it is more useful than it initially seems. Although the entire design is extremely simple, the mechanics themselves shouldn’t feel too foreign to you through the game.
With a little thought, the abstract mechanics of the browser game can be transferred to WoW. For example, when a pillar appears in the 2D game that you should stand behind, the step behind the pillar in the real fight is not so far away anymore.
