- Chrono Odyssey has released its first gameplay footage. The new MMORPG impresses with good graphics, action battles, and a time travel feature. Esome even say: “No MMO has ever looked this epic”.
- With Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore, a new MMORPG was released on Steam on May 1, aiming to appeal to hardcore and “old school” fans. However, it has so far received 72% negative reviews. Now a restart on May 12 is supposed to save the game.

New patch in WoW, new roadmap for Guild Wars 2
What happened with the major MMORPGs:
- In WoW, the new patch 10.1 was released. It not only brought new story and new instances, but also a quest that easily provides better loot than the hardest content. However, not everything went smoothly with the update. Our WoW demon Cortyn complains about the changes to the Shadow Priest and some players are struggling with lags, for which we have gathered 3 tricks to fix the problem.
- In Lost Ark, the next patch is scheduled for May 10 and will bring the new class Slayer (via Lost Ark). More details about the future of Lost Ark can be found in the roadmap.
- A player left Final Fantasy XIV after 150 hours because he only enjoyed the MMO content. This led to discussions. Additionally, a player began writing down the entire story of the MMORPG.
- In Black Desert, the spring season ends on May 10. The associated patch mainly makes adjustments to balance in PvP (via BDO).
- Guild Wars 2 shows its roadmap for 2023 and shares first teasers for the upcoming 4th expansion.
What happened with the smaller MMORPGs:
- In New World, the Spring Bloom event is still ongoing. A small patch has now massively increased the rewards (via Twitter).
- SWTOR has brought the new patch 7.3 to the test servers. It includes the new flashpoint “Shrine of Silence” and balance changes (via SWTOR).
- Albion Online has shared new details about the mechanics of the Knightfall Abbeys dungeons (via MassivelyOP).
What happened with the MMORPGs in development:
- Profane is a new sandbox MMORPG with maximum freedom. Now there is a new roadmap for the game.
- With Kreuzer, Krone, and Kabale, a German indie studio is working on a new MMO that focuses on politics, economics, and intrigue.
