In Destiny 2, the latest update has made a convenience in the Deep Stone Crypt raid impossible. At least for an hour, then players found a new glitch. We will show you how to access the hidden chest in Season 13 without fearing frostbite.
This is what the glitch is about: In the Deep Stone Crypt raid from Beyond Light , it has almost become the norm to skip the pre-phase and become immune to the cold there. This worked through a glitch that was easy to execute.
- Update 3.1.1 has now made the popular and often-used method impossible.
- In any case, it was impossible for an hour, and after such a short time, Guardians found a new trick, almost in the same spot.
- MeinMMO shows you here why Guardians love glitching so much and how that works now in Season 13.
That’s why it’s so popular: The glitch is used to easily access a hidden raid chest solo. It contains Conqueror loot, a resource that allows players to shop for Exotics at the Tower kiosk. This is the only way to still obtain the powerful raid Exotics from the past – since Bungie has removed the raids and their loot from the game.
Many Guardians also use the frostbite protection to make the pre-phase in the raid easier, allowing them to get to the actual action of the first encounter more quickly. In good clans, there is usually a Guardian who takes care of this alone while the rest of the team gathers and adjusts their loadouts.
The funny glitch that allowed oversized 12-Guardians teams was also removed with the update.
Bungie closes a loophole and the Guardians find 2 new ones
Only an hour after Bungie made the previously used method impossible, clever Guardians came up with a new way to bypass the annoying frostbite debuff. What’s curious is that the fix is not mentioned in the official patch notes (via Bungie.net).
This sound familiar? Rightly so! At the beginning of 2021, Bungie fixed a similar glitch that made players permanently immune to the frostbite debuff. Just a short time later, Guardians crafted the technique used until March 16. On January 21, MeinMMO reported on this.
How it works in Season 13: We assume you are familiar with the original glitch methods. You still use your Sparrow to maintain immunity. However, this time you have to leave the area just before the gate to the snowy region.
This is easy to do by jumping to the spot shown in the image. Exactly where the ceiling is a bit higher. Here you glide through the seemingly solid ice layer and suddenly find yourself above the area.
Make your way a few meters to the left from here until you get the frostbite debuff. Park your Sparrow so that it stands right at the edge of the zone that gives you the debuff. Then get on your Sparrow as usual and be immune – even when you dismount.
Now the path becomes a bit more complicated to describe. The exact route you should take as a Warlock can be seen here in this video by Cheese Forever, who also discovered this new glitch:
Pack a rocket launcher or a weapon with “bouncy projectiles” just in case you need to take yourself out. Only, in case you glitch yourself into a tricky situation. We at MeinMMO tried this on March 18, 2021 at 12 PM, and it worked on the first try.
Glitching has been part of Destiny since 2014
This is how the community reacts: Right on the evening of the update, Guardians discussed that Bungie probably secretly made the glitch impossible (via reddit). One user gave the community 3 hours until they would find a new method. When a new glitch was found after only an hour, it led to some laughter.
It feels like a hopeless battle: the massive video game giant against the little Guardian Davids, who always manage to find a loophole.
Glitching in Destiny: However, Bungie also ensures that players stay on their toes. Unlike companies like Massive with The Division 2, players of Destiny 2 do not receive penalties for exploiting bugs in the game.
Especially in PvE, glitching and exploiting safe spots have a long-standing tradition that dates back to the early days of 2014. This includes everything from unplugged LAN cables to bosses pushed off the map. Just recently, Bungie encouraged Guardians to have fun with the 12-player glitch, which they kept in the game a bit longer.
How do you feel about the fact that Guardians find new loopholes so quickly? Do you think it is slowly easier to play the phase normally than to navigate outside the map? Let us know if you think Bungie has raised Guardians to be glitchers.
Cheating, meaning using cheat software, we really wouldn’t recommend. Bungie, however, is taking legal action against such providers: Destiny 2 forces cheat sellers to shut down alongside Riot
