The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) offers versatile options when it comes to housing. A player is using this now to cope with the loss of his dog and immortalizes her in a beautiful shrine.
What happened? The reddit user punkrockblitzkrieg reached out to the community with a post. His dog Lilly Belle has passed away and he has built a shrine for her in ESO.
Her death was over a year ago, but his family is still having a hard time coping. So this little gesture is meant to make the loss a bit more bearable for him and his loved ones. Additionally, the shrine will remain as long as he doesn’t take it down or the servers don’t go down – so hopefully forever.
A small but dignified shrine
This is what the shrine looks like: The player found a small corner in one of the many houses in ESO. There, a fine pillow and a jackal statue adorn a table. Next to it, there are candles on a pedestal and on the floor.
For the picture of his Reddit post, he also added a photo of his dog.
According to his own statement, punkrockblitzkrieg invested a lot of effort into the shrine. He traveled to many houses to find suitable items. He also feels that the jackal represents his dog the best.
And the shrine is not the first incident in ESO of this kind. Not long ago, hundreds of players mourned the death of another player. It received so much support that he was even honored with a memorial.
The community mourns together
Under his post, punkrockblitzkrieg receives a lot of support. Other players express their condolences en masse. Some even share their own stories and talk about the shrines for their deceased pets:
