One definitely has to get used to the new name EA Sports FC 24. Starting next year, the Canadian development team and FIFA will go their separate ways.
In an interview with 3DJuegos LATAM, Samuel Rivera, the Creative Director of FC 24, commented on the impacts of the separation from FIFA.
He sees a significant advantage after the end of the partnership primarily in one aspect. You can find out what that is here.
FC 24: “We don’t have to adhere to any rules content-wise.”
It will still be a while until the launch of FIFA’s successor. In an interview with 3DJuegos, the Creative Director of FC 24, Samuel Rivera, was explicitly asked about the end of the collaboration with FIFA.
When asked about the changes resulting for FC 24 due to the separation from FIFA, Rivera saw new possibilities in collaborating with other major brands.
Using Nike as an example, the EA employee explained that completely new commercial opportunities would arise. “Now you can see a lot more content from Nike,” Rivera stated. That is one of the advantages and just the beginning.
What other partnerships are planned? Rivera has kept more detailed information about further projects with major brand names under wraps. “There will be much more,” is the only statement from him that comes out of the interview.
What advantages do the players have? This new independence will also be reflected on the field, as previously one had to adhere to “certain rules.” Now you can simply do what you think is appropriate. However, Rivera also doesn’t go into detail on this point.
EA Sports seems to be ambitious in wanting to make the most of the separation from FIFA. Detailed announcements are scarce, except for the Nike event, which will likely also be the first Ultimate Team promo. Information about the Nike campaign can be found in the pre-order bonuses of FC 24.
