28-year-old Kaitlyn Siragusa, known as Amouranth, is one of the most successful personalities on Twitch. On October 15, she revealed in an emotional stream that she is being controlled by her husband and forced to stream. Now she only wants to do what she wants – and has set a personal record.
What milestone has Amouranth achieved? Amouranth surpassed 6 million followers on Twitch, a new record for her channel. She is now the woman with the second most followers on Twitch, after Imane “Pokimane” Anys with 9.25 million followers. Overall, she ranks 22nd (via sullygnome).
Amouranth reached this milestone less than a month after she separated from her husband. She had accused him of emotional abuse and forcing her to stream.
After her emotional revelation, Amouranth announced that she no longer wanted to continue as before. Apparently, this is being well-received.
Amouranth seems to be having a lot of fun with Overwatch 2 at the moment.
Amouranth breaks free from control and people love it
What is Amouranth doing differently now? Not much, according to the opinions of some viewers. After all, Amouranth still appears in revealing outfits on stream, licks microphones in ASMR videos on YouTube, and posts racy pictures on Twitter.
Nevertheless, there are some fundamental changes:
- Amouranth streams significantly less: In October 2022, Amouranth was live for 231 hours. While this is still a lot, she was following her usual schedule until mid-month. Compared to previous months, she has streamed an average of 100 hours less (via sullygnome).
- Shorter streams: For a long time, Amouranth was almost daily live on Twitch for up to 14 hours straight. Now she also takes a day off or ends a stream after only 2 hours (via Twitchtracker).
- Amouranth shows different content: Yes, she still appears in daring outfits. But while the Hot Tub and ASMR categories used to dominate Amouranth’s streams, she now takes viewers along to meet her horses in IRL streams or plays Overwatch 2.
- What she does, she does of her own free will: If Amouranth now appears in the hot tub, it is likely only because she truly wants to.

Why is this exciting? Amouranth stated in October that she had been severely pressured by her husband. She was not allowed to do anything that could jeopardize her brand, including making her relationship public.
The nature of her content was also controlled by her husband, according to Amouranth. He demanded that she always present herself in revealing clothes instead of participating in fun streamer events, and she had to stay home and “grind”.
It apparently always revolved around gaining more followers and converting them into paying customers on platforms like OnlyFans.
Now, Amouranth is catching up on all the things she enjoys: she visits her horses, holds IRL streams with friends, and plays for hours. This could have led to a drop in viewer numbers.
But the opposite is true: more people than ever are following Amouranth when she is apparently being her true self.
Nevertheless, there are critical voices. Some people accuse Amouranth of using the accusations against her husband as a mere act, claiming she is presenting herself as usual again. Others are concerned and fear that Amouranth will continue to be pressured.
Amouranth responds to criticism
What does Amouranth say to her critics? On Twitter, Amouranth stated on October 22 what is different now: When she used to take a break from streaming, she was always productive in other ways: filming other content or having photo shoots.
Now she doesn’t do that; she doesn’t have any new photos to share. This suggests that at least part of the photos and videos currently posted by Amouranth were pre-produced a long time ago.
I believe some of you just don’t understand that one can be forced to do something over a longer period but want to do it of their own free will under other circumstances.
Amouranth
It seems that Amouranth has to rediscover herself after years of control and experiment with what content is right for her. If the last few weeks are an indicator, viewers can look forward to a mix of familiar and new content in the future.
The “Hot Tub” streams, with which Amouranth also became famous, have been controversially discussed for a long time. In particular, female streamers can circumvent Twitch’s strict clothing guidelines with them, as they are technically swimming. However, they must constantly tread a fine line; one wrong move, and they get banned:
