AMD’s CEO explains in the Q4 report that the Steam Machine is still on track. She also adds that an AMD chip will also be used in the upcoming Xbox.
AMD’s CEO Lisa Su spoke in the Q4 2025 earnings report to analysts and financial experts about AMD’s sales figures and finances. Here she explained that Valve is still preparing for the release of the Steam Machine.
Delivery of the Steam Machine is set to start in Spring 2026
The CEO of AMD stated that Valve is on schedule with the production of the new Steam Machine. Additionally, she noted that AMD hardware will also be used again in the next Xbox console (via videocardz.com):
For 2026, we expect a significant double-digit percentage decline in the annual revenue from semi-custom SoCs, as we are now entering the seventh year of a very strong console cycle.
From a product perspective, Valve is on track to start delivering its AMD-based Steam Machine early this year.
And the development of Microsoft’s next generation Xbox with an AMD semi-custom SoC is progressing well, with a market launch planned for 2027.
SoCs are specialized chips primarily used in consoles, mobile phones, and other finished devices.
What is the current situation? According to AMD’s CEO, the Steam Machine is still expected to launch in Spring 2026. So far, Valve remains silent about details and information surrounding the Steam Machine, and some fear that high RAM and SSD prices could delay the launch of the Steam Machine.
