The developers of Lost Ark have presented the third roadmap of the year 2024. First, there will be some breathing room. Then, all heroes of Arkesia can expect the next big wave of content, with raid challenges, a new continent, and more.
What is the problem? Lost Ark is, in a way, a rather unusual case. Most MMORPGs struggle with the issue that the supply of content is not arriving on the servers quickly enough to satisfy a large part of their community.
In the online RPG from Smilegate and Amazon Games, the opposite is the case. So much time-consuming endgame content has arrived in Arkesia on a monthly basis, that players have repeatedly complained about fatigue and overwhelm.
How are the developers addressing the issue? Fundamentally, the developers often introduce new endgame content along with events or adjustments that allow characters to reach the current progress level with relatively little effort.
Furthermore, the team is deliberately applying the brakes a bit this summer. Already the July update went live with the motto “Chilliger Sommer”. In addition to the new solo mode for raids and dungeons, as well as the epilogue quest of the Echinda story, mainly reliefs and support systems were added to the servers.
Thanks to the freshly released third roadmap for the year 2024, it is now also clear that August will be relatively calm as well (via playlostark.com). Below, MeinMMO summarizes the most important new features for Lost Ark from August to November.
The developers of Lost Ark are already working on the next MMORPG – here is the trailer:
Roadmap 3 for Lost Ark in 2024
What is coming in August for Lost Ark?
- Indigo Island: The new island is located off the coast of Kurzans, in the Sea of Gienah. It can be explored by players with an item level of 1,600 or higher. On Indigo Island, there is a quest you need to complete to enter the single-player dungeon “Underwater Cave”. You can exchange the reward tokens from the dungeon for progress materials like elixirs and more.
- Maharaka Festival: The next phase of the ongoing in-game event will start.
- Stylebook: With this new feature, you can upload your favorite character customizations to share them with other heroes. You can also define favorites and save them as presets.
- Comfort improvements: Chaos Dungeons will receive a new “Weekly Purification” mission system. If you complete a Chaos Dungeon with active Resonance Aura, you will earn purification points. With those, you will gain access to reward chests that can contain items from Chaos Dungeons. This is intended to alleviate the grind of Chaos Dungeons.
- Bound Gold System: Through this new system, you can earn additional gold through in-game activities that you can use for progress systems.
- Adaptation of the Echidna Raid: The difficulties Normal and Hard of the Echidna Raid will be eased.
What is planned for September?
- New Continent North-Kurzan: It is time to go north to explore the next part of the continent Kurzan. The Demon Legion and the Chaos Guardians have taken over, and the resurrection of Kazeros seems imminent. North-Kurzan is accessible to characters with an item level of 1,600 or higher who have completed the world quest South-Kurzan, the prologue quest Kazeros Raid “Overture”, and the prologue quest Epic Raid “Behemoth”.
- Class 4: The new endgame level of Lost Ark includes a variety of new content and systems – according to the developers, no endgame update for the western version of the MMORPG has been as comprehensive and transformative.
- New Activities: With the Kurzan Frontline (hack-and-slash content resembling Chaos Dungeons) and the Fortress Kenuart (a new dungeon that you can tackle alone or in a group of four players), two new endgame challenges are coming into play.
- Equipment Adjustments: Accessories, engravings, and ability stones of Class 4 will function differently than their Class 3 counterparts. Additionally, a new character development system called the Archen Bonus will be introduced.
- General Changes: The combat level cap will be raised from 60 to 70 and the squad level cap from 300 to 400. Additionally, Class 4 jewels will be introduced, which, alongside other effects, include an increase in attack power and special effects on damage jewels for support classes.
- Behemoth Raid: The 16-player raid against Behemoth will appear, attracting with Class 4 materials as well as weapon transcendence.
- Express Server: Further jump-start servers will be rolled out for new players, where character progression will be further supported through additional systems and events.
- Yoz’s Ring – Season 3: The new season of Yoz’s Ring brings fresh legendary skins.
- Ark Pass: The new Ark Pass will assist you in leveling and endgame grind.
What is coming in October?
- Aegir Raid: Aegir will be the next Kazeros Raid that you can take on. In the first portal, Akkan returns for a battle, and in the second, Aegir appears as your enemy. The Aegir Raid will feature ancient Class 4 equipment that can be refined into relic equipment and is linked to the Archen Bonus system.
- Removal of Thaemine – Number 1: Those who want to master this challenge and receive the corresponding rewards only have until mid-October.
And what is known for November?
- Hyper Awakening: Hyper Awakening skills will be introduced, which can be used with a separate key. The strength of their effects is supposed to lie between the base skill and the awakening skill. You can receive the skills as rewards for completing quests and enhance them by fulfilling certain conditions.
- Buzzling Island: A new island themed around honey bees is planned.
- New Skills for Companions: All companions will receive new skills randomly. They will support you in your fortress, during skill use, in expeditions, or in crafting items.
How do you evaluate Lost Ark’s somewhat calmer approach? Are you looking forward to the upcoming content? Let us know in the comments! By the way, we had the opportunity to ask Amazon Games a few questions in May: Player fatigue remains a problem in Lost Ark, but they have nearly caught up with the Korea version
