The developers of New World addressed the players in a video. In it, they answer questions about the future of the MMORPG and introduce the new leadership.
Who is the new boss? The new boss of the MMORPG is named Katy Kaszynski. She takes over the position of Game Director from Scot Lane, who has a new role at Amazon Games. According to Kaszynski, he has internally moved to another project. It is unclear whether this could be the new MMORPG based on The Lord of the Rings.
The boss was previously in the role of Live Lead and served as Senior Producer for New World at Amazon, so she is already well-acquainted with the MMORPG. Alongside her, Dan Henuber has also been promoted. The former Lead UX Designer is now the new Creative Director of New World, replacing David Verfaillie. The MMORPG’s leadership also includes Product Owner Joel Clift.
Together, the three address the community’s questions on YouTube and explain how the MMORPG intends to continue under new leadership.

Roadmap promises new content
What has the new boss introduced? Under the new leadership of Boss Kaszynski, New World will be further developed. In the video, the new leadership explains that they are currently focusing on rewards and progression in the endgame.
The progression team under Joel Clift is currently working to revise the reward systems in the MMORPG so that players will receive better incentives to chase and collect gear sets in the endgame.
Moreover, the developers want the gear to interact better with the player and to provide unique opportunities for building loadouts and play styles. The current issues of high prices for crafting mods will be addressed in the next season.
What new content is to come? The developers mention a large number of new contents in the video that are to be introduced in the near and distant future into the MMORPG:
- New weapons
- More seasonal servers, like the new PvP world
- More instanced PvP game modes such as “Capture the Flag”
- New PvP practice fights for companies called “Pickup Wars”
- A new zone
- A global storage
- The barber salon
- Revamping of territory
- Crossplay for console characters
- Balance and meta changes

Whether New World can recover under the new leadership remains to be seen. The current peak numbers on Steam are below 10,000 simultaneous players (via SteamDB).
