With the Fire TV Omni QLED Series, Amazon introduced a range of affordable 4K TVs. But are the models worth it, which are currently on sale?
A few months ago, Amazon introduced a series of new 4K TVs with smart features under the “Fire TV Omni QLED Series”. Amazon aims to offer a lot of interesting features for little money. At first glance, the functions of the series also sound promising:
- 4K Quantum Dot Display (QLED)
- Features like Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive for better contrasts and colors.
- Adaptive brightness, here a sensor should adjust the brightness of movies and series to the room lighting.
- Additionally, all known Amazon features such as streaming or Alexa are integrated in the device itself.
Thanks to Prime Day, you can now get the models at a really good price. For the cheapest model at 43 inches, you currently pay “only” 349.99 euros, saving 42% compared to the MSRP of 599.99. You haven’t seen the model much cheaper, but it’s only offered exclusively through Amazon.
But is it worth it?

Good picture quality, but savings are made in many areas
How is the model rated? Some testers have already had a closer look at the new TVs.
The colleagues from Techstage tried one of the models and explain in their test that one gets a smart TV with convincing picture quality and rich colors – if one takes the time and makes the right settings. Criticism is mainly directed at the comparatively low brightness and the strongly reflective display.
The testers from rtings see it similarly: they also attest the models excellent colors and great contrast. The device even offers some gaming features, which are, however, severely restricted: the display only offers 60 Hz and HDMI 2.1 is also not supported.
Also, the colleagues from Hifi.de explain that they receive an entry-level device with surprisingly good gaming qualities. Criticism also comes for the brightness and weak sound. But at least you can compensate for the latter with a good sound system.
Are the affordable TVs worth it? It really depends on what you expect from a TV. If you overlook the reflective display and the low maximum brightness, you get a decent overall package of good picture quality and other features. However, you will definitely have to make compromises.
However, you should not expect the same quality as if you were buying a model for 1,500 euros. For your PS5, there are also better models in the long run that support HDMI 2.1. If you’re looking for a secondary or temporary solution, the Amazon models could also be a tip.
