Amazon has released a new trailer for New World. New World: Aeternum is not just a console version of the MMO, but also brings new content to the game. What that content is, you can find out at MeinMMO.
Amazon Games has released a trailer for New World: Aeternum at the Summer Games Fest, and as our MMO expert Karsten Scholz suspected, it is a console version of the game.
Of course, this is not all, as Aeternum will also bring several new content and major changes to the MMO. It even goes so far that Aeternum is evolving from an MMORPG to an action RPG.

The MMORPG becomes an Action RPG
What will be changed? At a presentation to which MeinMMO was invited, Amazon Games presented more information about the new content in Aeternum in addition to the trailer. The update is primarily aimed at adjusting and improving the gameplay and user interface for consoles. The combat system is set to become significantly more action-oriented and adapted for controller controls.

- Content will also be tailored for solo players
Amazon Games itself calls the game an action RPG in this announcement. The changes to combat will also come to the PC. At the presentation, Amazon Games referred to the new New World: Aeternum as an open-world action RPG with MMO elements (such as a player-driven economy).
The gameplay experience for newcomers is also supposed to improve. The leveling system is set to be adjusted, and the main quest will receive a cinematic focus. They claimed to have closely examined player feedback.
There is also a lot of new content for PC players
Anyone who wants to use a controller on PC can do so with Aeternum. In addition, new content is also coming to the game, which will be released across all platforms through crossplay:
- The first 10-player raid
- Extensive PvP zone
- Solo challenges in the endgame
- Character archetypes
- New dialogue system and new cutscenes
- Improved story
- Improved leveling system
New World: Aeternum is set to be released digitally on October 15, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. PC players who own the DLC Rise of the Angry Earth will receive all Aeternum content for free.
