What kind of device is this? The bestseller is the Huawei AD80HW or simply Display 23.8. This device is also the first monitor that the manufacturer Huawei has in its range. Until now, you would primarily know Huawei for smartphones and smaller gadgets like fitness trackers.
The screen relies on an IPS panel with low viewing angle dependence. A matte coating should ensure that you don’t have to deal with annoying reflections in sunlight. On the back, there is an HDMI and a VGA input, the monitor does not offer more.
What does the device cost? Currently, you pay 125 Euros for the Huawei AD80HW instead of 160 Euros. This is a saving of 21%. If you pay 6 Euros more (131 Euros), you even get a model with 75 Hz.

Huawei monitor not suitable for gaming
Why is the device unsuitable for gamers? The built-in IPS panel from Huawei only achieves 60 Hz. Especially in fast-action titles, the refresh rate would limit you. We would recommend gamers of fast shooters or action games a gaming monitor with at least 120 Hz. A YouTuber once tested whether a 144 Hz monitor makes gamers better shooter players.
Additionally, the monitor lacks an important gaming feature. The device offers neither Adaptive Sync nor FreeSync. Some testers explain that the response times are supposed to be quite sluggish (via pc-magazin.de). In practice, this means: With fast movements, there are ugly and uncomfortable streaks on the monitor.
The features of the Huawei AD80HW are also sparse. You get neither a USB hub, nor speakers, nor a headphone jack. The device also does not offer a Display connection.
