The fantasy MMO Allods Online is trying again on Steam in its “old days.”
Allods Online, the Russian free-to-play MMORPG, has now been around for 5 years. Launched as a successor to free-to-play games like Runes of Magic, the game did not receive the same attention in Europe and North America as it did in Russia. This was mainly due to a controversial launch: The game faced a lot of criticism for its monetization methods.
Now the Steam platform has been discovered, and they want to try again here. Currently, the game is in the “Greenlight process” and they are campaigning for community votes. Some free-to-play MMOs have recently made the leap to Valve’s platform. Tera certainly has the most significant successes to report.
Allods Online is currently working on Patch 6.1. From the move to Steam, they hope for an influx of new players and a new platform where the game can be discussed.
