In Fortnite: Battle Royale, there will soon be a crazy event. The musician DJ Marshmello is giving a live concert in the game. How it works and what you need to keep in mind can be found here. For a few moments, there was even a ceasefire in Fortnite.
Who is DJ Marshmello? This musician is not only a popular DJ but also a big fan of Fortnite. He played with a bucket on his head together with Ninja in the “Pro-AM” tournament at E3 2018 and even won there!
Currently, DJ Marshmello is on a big tour, and one stop is actually Pleasant Park from Fortnite.
What is the Marshmello Event? The gig in Pleasant Park is no joke. Rather, DJ Marshmello will actually appear in the game and give a concert on February 2 at 8:00 PM our time. A stage has already been set up in Pleasant Park for this.
This is how Marshmello announces the event: On February 1, you could hear Marshmello’s voice in the game. He announced the event again with the words “What’s up, Fortnite, this is Marshmello. I can’t wait to see you tomorrow!”
How will the event unfold? According to a data leak, there will be a special game mode called “Party at Pleasant Park”. Squads are usual there, and respawns are enabled. You can then watch the concert and not worry if you get eliminated.
If this mode really comes, it will probably be a bizarre mix of a concert and a huge slaughter, if ruthless players regularly “crash” the party. However, it is still unclear whether this game mode actually exists and whether the event will also take place in the other modes.
This is how the Show-Time event unfolded in Fortnite
Update 2.2., 19:24 Uhr: It’s true. There is indeed a special limited-time mode for Showtime.
Update 19:39 Uhr: All modes are now disabled except Showtime and Creative mode. However, there seem to be problems – when trying to start a match, the message “All battle buses are full” appears.
The surge of participants for the event seems to be enormous.
The new mode is quite a slaughter. The storm eye is gathering around Pleasant Park, so around the concert.
Two “big” teams face off in a 30vs30 match. The first team to reach 200 kills wins. Respawns are enabled. During the preparation, there are announcements from Marshmello.
Update 20:00 Uhr: The event has started. And there is indeed a ceasefire in Fortnite. Apparently, all weapons are disabled during Marshmello’s concert.
Right in front of the stage, there is a zero-gravity zone, so people are jumping around while a giant Marshmello dances with projections of plush representatives.
Players gather in front of the stage, using the Emote “Shimmer,” which they previously earned through challenges. They clap over their heads – like at a concert.
Impressive when you think about how 60 people are doing this in one match – and probably a few million worldwide right now. And when you see how many are wearing a Mello costume (1500 V-Bucks in the shop), Epic has surely made millions of dollars on skins with this idea again.
Update 20:12 Uhr: The concert lasted only a few minutes. After 3, 4 songs, the weapons were suddenly active again, and the peaceful concert turned into a slaughter.
Update 23:08 Uhr: Marshmello is playing an encore. On Sunday, February 3, at 8:00 AM CET (i.e., our time), he will perform again.

These are the Marshmello items: To celebrate the event, Epic is currently offering a lot of Marshmello-themed items. You can buy the DJ as a skin in the item shop right now. Along with a matching glider and Marshmello emotes.
There is also DJ Bop, the female counterpart to the Llama DJ Yonder from the Battle Pass of Season 7. And if you just want to dance, you can get the Nightlight skin.
These are the Marshmello challenges: On Friday, February 1, at 3 PM, additional challenges for the Marshmello event went online. The first task is already online; you need to find a poster for the event. Where you can find them, you can find out here in our guide to the Marshmello poster.
For the second task, you only need to visit the concert location at Pleasant Park. Just go there, and you have completed the task. Task 3 requires you to spread “Mello mood” at a truck stop, an ice cream parlor, and a frozen lake. For this, we have a guide to the Mello mood.
