The early access of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers begins tomorrow, on June 28. Here you will find all important quests of the addon and where they start.
When do the servers go online on Friday? Players who pre-ordered FFXIV: Shadowbringers and registered for early access will be able to play it tomorrow:
- The servers are expected to go online again at 11:00 AM our time on June 28.
Where does the quest for the story start? In order to reach the endgame content of the new addon, you must first complete the main story quests. You can find the first quest as follows:
- Quest name: Of Senders and Broadcasts
- Location: Mor Dhona, Sunstone (X:6.0 /Y:5.9)
- NPC: Tataru
- Prerequisite: The last story quest of the addon Stormblood, “Requiem of the Heroes”, must be completed.
After starting the first quest, you will be guided through the story as usual, unlocking new dungeons and primals battles along the way. You just need to follow the quest line.
How do I unlock the new jobs? With the Shadowbringers addon, two new jobs are introduced: Dancer and Gunbreaker. You can find out how and where to unlock them here:
Note that both jobs start at level 60. This means that you must level them up to level 70 before you can play the story of Shadowbringers as a Dancer or Gunbreaker.
Side Quests for Roles and Jobs
What happens after completing the story? Once you reach level 80 and complete the story of Shadowbringers, a range of quests will open up that you can complete.
These quests are tailored to the various job roles, such as tanks or healers, and provide more story content and additional rewards.
To fulfill the conditions for these role quests, you must have mastered the first dungeon of Shadowbringers and have spoken with the NPC Glynard during the story. Afterwards, the game will inform you that the quests are now available.
Tank Role Quests:
- Quest name: Hunt for a Virtue
- Location: Crystarium (X:10.5 Y:16.2)
- NPC: Granson
- Prerequisites: A tank job at level 70. The main story of Shadowbringers must be completed up to a certain quest.
Healer Role Quests:
- Quest name: Healing Helper Needed
- Location: Crystarium (X:10.7 Y:15.4)
- NPC: Giott
- Prerequisites: A healer job at level 70. The main story of Shadowbringers must be completed up to a certain quest.
Physical DPS Role Quests:
- Quest name: Hunter’s Exam
- Location: Crystarium (X:10.8 Y:15.9)
- NPC: Lue-Reeq
- Prerequisites: A physical DPS job at level 70. The main story of Shadowbringers must be completed up to a certain quest.
Magical DPS Role Quests:
- Quest name: The Spheres of the Sin-Eater
- Location: Crystarium (X:11.2 Y:15.2)
- NPC: Cerigg
- Prerequisites: A magical DPS job at level 70. The main story of Shadowbringers must be completed up to a certain quest.
Dungeons, Ex-Primals, and Raids
This is how you unlock the dungeons: Most dungeons will be unlocked automatically as you progress through the story of Shadowbringers. However, there are two level 80 dungeons that will only be available after completing the story.
- Quest name: A Message from the Past
- Location: Crystarium (X: 8.5 / Y: 10.9)
- NPC: Bethana
- Prerequisites: At least one job at level 80, completion of the story of Shadowbringers
- Quest name: Akadaemia of Terror
- Location: Eulmore, lowest level (X: 13 / Y: 12)
- NPC: Exhausted Ondo
- Prerequisites: At least one job at level 80, completion of the story of Shadowbringers
This is how you unlock the Ex-Primals: The two Ex versions of Titania and Innocence can be found with the NPC that FFXIV players will recognize.
- NPC: Wandering Bard
- Location: Crystarium (X: 8 / Y: 13)
This is how you unlock the “Eden” raid: You can now unlock the normal mode of the new 8-player raid in the Crystarium. The epic version will be released on July 30:
- Quest name: In the Middle of Nowhere
- Location: Crystarium (X: 9.7 / Y: 12.3)
- NPC: Concerned City Guard
Prerequisites: At least one job at level 80, completion of the story of Shadowbringers
What is the new alliance raid about? The 24-player raid for Nier Automata will be released with patch 5.1 in autumn.
Side Quests for Collectors and Crafters
What new quests are there? Similar to the combat jobs, the gathering and crafting classes have also had their class quests combined. You can find the starter quest for the quest lines here:
- Quest name: The Guild’s Manufactory
- Location: Crystarium (X:11.0 Y:8.5)
- NPC: Katliss
- Prerequisites: At least one gatherer or crafter at level 70. The main story of Shadowbringers must be completed up to approximately level 72 quest “The Crystarium’s Resolve”.
