Rank 9: Monk – Way of the Drunken Master
Here things get a bit trickier with the selection. Monks are already a strong class. The Way of the Drunken Master comes with many advantages, which are, however, conditional.
Alcohol has no effect on you and can restore half of your Ki points once per day. You can also drunkenly confuse enemies, are even more agile than other monks, and play around the “drunken” status.
But that’s just the point: you have to constantly play around this status. If for some reason that doesn’t work, you lose almost all your strength in combat.
Rank 8: Paladin – Oath of the Crown
Paladins are inherently powerful and the most popular class in the game. With the Oath of the Crown, however, you trade the power of some other oaths for the ability to tank and protect your group.
This can be useful depending on the situation, but usually, it’s smarter to take down enemies faster. And that’s where the Crown Paladin falls short. If you want to play a full support tank, especially in a group with friends, this oath is perfect.
Rank 7: Sorcerer – Shadow Magic
The new subclass bypasses what usually troubles Sorcerers: that they tend to go down quickly. As a Shadow Magic Sorcerer, you have the ability to hinder attacks, evade them, or even completely prevent a killing blow.
For Honour Mode runs, the subclass is quite strong, and if you feel like you’re taking too much damage, the Shadow Magic Sorcerer is a great choice. However, in terms of pure damage output and utility, the other new classes as well as some Sorcerer subclasses are stronger.
