In Pokémon GO there are currently six different lure modules that you can activate at PokéStops. We show you everything about rain, glacier, moss, magnetic, golden, and the regular lure module and which Pokémon they attract.
What is it about? You can place lure modules at PokéStops in Pokémon GO to attract certain Pokémon or to trigger evolutions. In this overview, we show you everything you need to know about the lure modules. The newest lure module is the rain lure module, which has been in the game since May 2021.

- Catch exclusive Pokémon nearby by using the module
- Perform certain evolutions that only work with an active module nearby
How to use lure modules? Select a PokéStop and tap the small icon for the lure module above the disc symbol and choose one of the modules from the overview below that you want to use.
Rain Lure Module in Pokémon GO – Spawns and Evolutions
What do they attract? If you use a rain lure module at a stop in Pokémon GO, you will attract Pokémon of the types Water, Bug, and Electric. These include Pokémon such as:
- Goldeen
- Swablu
- Chinchou
- Gyarados
- Frillish
- Electkid
- Seaking
- Charmander
- Staryu
- Froakie
Which Pokémon can be evolved? With an active rain lure module, you can evolve Shelmet into Accelgor. This also works if it rains in the game.
Glacier Lure Module in Pokémon GO – Spawns and Evolutions
What do they attract? The glacier lure module only attracts Pokémon of the types Ice or Water. These include spawns such as
- Spheal
- Herdier
- Eevee
- Clamperl
- Snorunt
- Buizel
- Sealeo
- Piplup
- Froslass
- Otter
Which Pokémon can be evolved? With an active glacier lure module, you can evolve your Eevee into Glaceon and Krabby into Kingler.
Moss Lure Module in Pokémon GO – Spawns and Evolutions
What do they attract? With the moss lure module, you will receive more spawns of the types Bug, Grass, and Poison near the PokéStop. The following Pokémon belong to the more common spawns:
- Budew
- Chespin
- Roselia
- Tangela
- Eevee
- Treecko
- Shroomish
- Peridot
- Yanma
- Roselia
- Budew
- Sweet or sour apples
Which Pokémon can be evolved? With an active moss lure module, you can evolve Eevee into Leafeon. Keep in mind that you can also use nicknames for evolving Eevee in Pokémon GO.
Magnet Lure Module in Pokémon GO – Spawns and Evolutions
What do they attract? With the magnetic lure modules, you encounter more Pokémon of the types Electric, Rock, and Steel at the respective PokéStops. These include Pokémon such as:
- Pikachu
- Alolan Geodude
- Magnemite
- Voltorb
- Electabuzz
- Jolteon
- Registeel
- Stunfisk
- Snorlax
- Electabuzz
Which Pokémon can be evolved? If you have a magnetic lure module active, you can evolve Magneton into Magnezone. You can also evolve Registeel into Latios with it. Since August 2022, you can also evolve Akkup (the evolution of Yamper) with an active magnetic lure module into Donarion.
Normal Lure Module in Pokémon GO – Spawns and Evolutions
What do they attract? With the normal lure module, all types of Pokémon can be attracted. These are the monsters that are currently spawning in the wild.
Which Pokémon can be evolved? Normal lure modules do not unlock any special evolutions.
Golden Lure Module in Pokémon GO
What is special about this lure module? A special form of lure modules in Pokémon GO is the golden lure module. You cannot obtain it within Pokémon GO but only by connecting Pokémon GO with Scarlet & Violet on the Switch.
What do they attract? The golden lure module attracts Gierspenst (forme wander) and transforms the PokéStop into a golden PokéStop, where you will be rewarded with Gierspenst coins for spinning the photo disc. All info on golden PokéStops.
How to obtain and buy lure modules
Where can you buy lure modules? In the shop of Pokémon GO, you can find them in the item overview.
Individual modules cost 180 coins each. The standard lure module costs 100 coins.
How to obtain lure modules? If you want to have a lure module directly with certainty, you will find them in the shop. Sometimes, lure modules are also available as rewards through research. A rain lure module was available in the research on Illuminating Legends X. It is likely that lure modules will be available as rewards in future research as well.
Keep in mind that the bonus from lure modules counts for all players. If you are out with friends and one activates a lure module at a stop, all players nearby can benefit from the spawns and bonuses.
