The Krasue

The Krasue brings real dark body horror to the world of Dead by Daylight, as the actually beautiful woman can separate her head and spine from her body to hunt her victims as a flying mass of intestines and whip them with guts. Her size corresponds to an average in normal form, as does her terror radius of 32 meters and her speed of 115% (4.6 m/s). In head form, her speed slightly increases, but her terror radius also increases to 40 meters.

Dead by Daylight Krasue Body Clash
The Krasue sometimes reacts a bit overdramatically.

Special Ability: Body Mesh and Drained – The Krasue has a large set of several abilities that interact with each other. The first and probably most relevant ability is the body mesh. This allows the Krasue to switch between her human and head form (or switch back). The transformation takes a moment.

Depending on which form the Krasue is in, she has different methods to apply the Drained debuff to survivors:

  • Body form: The Krasue charges a strangle attack that then spits a suction gland onto the victim. Upon a hit, the survivor is immediately afflicted with Drained I.
  • Head form: The Krasue can whip survivors with her intestines. This fills the survivor’s Drained gauge up to a maximum of Drained I. If a survivor is already suffering from Drained, the whip can deal direct damage.

As soon as survivors are afflicted with Drained I, the Drained gauge automatically continues to fill – without the Krasue’s involvement. If the survivors do not attend to this condition, they will ultimately be afflicted with Drained II. This ensures that they are broken and, if they are not injured yet, will sustain an injury.

Survivors can heal from the Drained status by consuming a glow mushroom. These can be found at various locations on the map, but also always where the Krasue has left her body behind.

How to use Body Mesh and Drained correctly? Correctly utilizing the abilities is quite difficult, as you have to keep making decisions about whether to leave the body form or not. You need to basically keep an eye on how far the infection with Drained has progressed on all survivors and then make decisions about whether to continue a chase or switch targets.

In general, head form is advisable when you are sure that there are no pallets nearby that you need to destroy – as the Krasue cannot do that in head form. Head form is also suitable for quickly covering great distances, as she can fly faster in this form. The ability to peek around corners is also very valuable – this is something few other killers can do.

Pro
  • A killer who can use the 3rd-person view, which only survivors usually have.
  • Diverse possibilities to eliminate survivors.
Contra
  • Very complex due to many interactions of the abilities.
  • The decision between head and body form can be difficult and quickly lead to disadvantages.
  • Feels rather weak against experienced survivors.

Who is the Krasue suitable for? The Krasue is definitely not for beginners and should only be considered if you have already spent several hundred hours in Dead by Daylight and can recite most perks by heart. Her playstyle is quite unique, but it requires good planning and a healthy self-assessment to achieve success with the Krasue. True masters can turn her into a cold-blooded killing machine, while others might feel overwhelmed by the Krasue’s playstyle.
