The Nurse
The Nurse is the first killer added to Dead by Daylight. She has several strong advantages and can teleport through walls and across multiple floors, making her cover great distances in no time. However, this also has downsides. Using her ability stuns her for a while, and her normal movement speed is extremely slow. She is even slower than a running survivor.
Special Ability: Spencer’s Last Breath – The Nurse can teleport to her line of sight. The longer you charge the ability, the further the teleport goes. Maximum range is reached when the Nurse makes a fist. After teleporting, she has a few moments to execute a second teleport or an attack. After that, the Nurse is stunned for a few seconds and must stare at the ground until the stun wears off. Then she has to wait a few seconds before she can teleport again, as teleports have cooldowns.
How to use Spencer’s Last Breath correctly? Correctly using Spencer’s Last Breath is a process that requires a lot of time and practice. Once you internalize how far each teleportation takes you, catching survivors becomes significantly easier. Here are a few general tips:
The duration of the stun after a teleport depends on several factors. Each chain of teleports (standard is a maximum of 2, more can be obtained through addons) increases the duration of the stun. If you land a hit at the end of the teleports, the duration of the stun is further increased. So only strike if you are sure you can hit your target!
The Nurse can also fake long teleports. If a teleport is fully charged, the Nurse can simply lower her gaze. If she looks directly ahead, the teleport will execute only a few meters.
In general, never skimp on the teleportation. Don’t forget that survivors are faster than the Nurse, and you can only catch up with them through teleportation.
You can already charge the second teleport while the first teleport is still ongoing. This saves you extra time and allows you to cover more ground.
Who is the Nurse suitable for? Anyone who doesn’t mind an extremely steep learning curve and then wants to become the terror of all survivors should take the Nurse.
