The Houndmaster
The Houndmaster is likely to give some people nightmares, as she is not only a creepy pirate lady but also has a pretty nasty trained dog that she unleashes on her enemies. The dog can act automatically or can be controlled deliberately. Aside from that, the Houndmaster is average. She has a terror radius of 32 meters, moves at 115% movement speed (4.6 m/s), and has an average height.
Special Ability: Blood Trail – Blood Trail is a combination of several abilities, all related to the Houndmaster’s dog.
- Dash allows the dog to rush forward and jump on the first survivor within the targeted line. If a survivor is caught, they are considered Restricted and the dog attempts to slowly pull them towards the Houndmaster. During the first charge, the Houndmaster can take control of the dog and correct its path.
- Search has the dog chase far away. In doing so, the dog reveals larger and larger areas. If a survivor is discovered during this, they are marked with Killer Instinct and revealed. The Houndmaster can follow the dog’s direct trail to move with increased speed.
- Dog Scent affects all survivors revealed by Search. If survivors are injured with Dog Scent, they suffer from the Deep Wounds status. Injured survivors with Dog Scent make louder pain sounds.
How to use Blood Trail effectively? In general, it’s always worth sending the dog out in one way or another. Especially for quickly traveling to different parts of the map, it’s useful to follow the dog’s direct trail. Hitting a survivor directly with the dog is, however, difficult and requires a lot of practice. Often, it is beneficial to let the dog charge forward while approaching from another direction to cut off a loop.
Who is the Houndmaster suitable for? At the current time, the Houndmaster is not recommended. This is mainly due to the many bugs and issues that currently exist.
Often the dog gets stuck at a corner, just stops, or doesn’t respond correctly to commands. A bigger patch is required before real fun can be had. One must really be a huge dog fan to currently enjoy this killer.
