The Unknown
“The Unknown” is likely to go down in history as one of the most gruesome killers of all time in Dead by Daylight. The figure, which only vaguely resembles a humanoid, contorts and twists repeatedly, leaving behind horrific apparitions. The Unknown is of average height, has a terror radius of 32 meters, and moves at 115% of the movement speed (4.6 m/s).
Special Ability: UGX – The Unknown can charge a ranged attack, the UGX. After charging, the attack buttons can be used to fire a ballistic projectile. Survivors who come into direct contact with the projectile are briefly slowed down. The projectile can bounce once off vertical walls and explodes upon hitting the ground. Survivors within the explosion radius are given the “weak” status effect. Weak survivors take damage if they are hit by the explosion a second time.
Survivors can remove the “weak” status by staring directly into the killer’s eyes for a few seconds.
In addition, the Unknown periodically creates hallucinations, or apparitions of itself. Survivors can dispel the hallucinations, but will become “weak” if they do not fully dispel them. The Unknown can teleport to the hallucinations, briefly leaving behind a decoy before it disappears.
How to use UGX correctly? Using the UGX projectiles properly is an art that needs practice. In many cases, it is worth focusing on melee hits. However, if you often find yourselves in “loops” where survivors lead you by the nose, the UGX projectile can be worthwhile. With a little practice, you can shoot around corners and through smaller holes in the environment, landing hits that seem impossible at first glance.
Who is the Unknown suitable for? The Unknown is definitely for those who enjoy it really disgusting and cruel. The killer combines eerie scare games with solid ranged abilities. However, handling the UGX projectiles requires a bit of practice. So, you should budget some time for learning.
