The Skull Merchant

The Skull Merchant, originally named Adriana Imai, uses cutting-edge technology to track her enemies. Flying drones provide her with insight into large areas of the map and reveal when survivors are nearby.

Thus, the Skull Merchant is always aware of what the survivors are up to. Apart from that, the Skull Merchant meets the standard. She has an average height, a movement speed of 115% (4.6 m/s), and a terror radius of 32 meters.

Special Ability: Eyes in the Sky – The Skull Merchant can place up to 4 drones simultaneously on the map. The drones scan the area around them in a large radius. If the Skull Merchant is in this area, she becomes undetectable – meaning she has no terror radius or red glow in front of her.

Survivors within the drone’s influence area are scanned and accumulate progress for a lock-on. Upon complete lock-on, the survivors are marked with a killer instinct and are at risk for a while, meaning they will go down with one hit.

If a drone fails to detect survivors for an extended period, it switches to inactive environmental scan until it detects a survivor again. During this time, survivors have the opportunity to hack the drone and disable it. If the hack is successful, the drone is sent back to the killer, but the survivor receives a hook trap that reveals their location for a few seconds.

If the hack fails, the hooking display immediately fills to maximum and the drone becomes active again.

Drones cannot be placed directly next to hooks where a survivor is hanging.

In addition to all that, the Skull Merchant can always check her radar. Survivors within a drone’s range or with a hook trap will be indicated there, allowing for exact determination of their position.

How to properly use Eyes in the Sky? Proper use of Eyes in the Sky is similar to the usage of the Bear Traps by the Trapper. It is best to choose an area of the map early on that you want to cover with the drones’ influence range. Here, junctions are suitable, but also the direct vicinity of generators.

Since the Skull Merchant has no terror radius within her drone scans, this can also be useful in chasing survivors to deceive them.

Experienced Skull Merchant players can also manage to continuously chase survivors through the drone area to quickly put them in the “Exposed” status and take them down with a single hit.

Pro
  • Cool, modern character design
  • Great overview of survivor movements
Contra
  • Complicated power that can quickly overwhelm
  • Too much information can be overwhelming
  • Reliant entirely on melee attacks in chases

Who is the Skull Merchant suitable for? The Skull Merchant is primarily for fans of character design in her current state. While her power is certainly interesting and can be useful in experienced hands, she often lags behind other killers and requires a lot of practice. Anyone who engages with the Skull Merchant should therefore prepare for many hours of trial and error in order to successfully eliminate survivors with her.
