The Trickster / The Trickster

The Trickster breaks a bit with the typical style of Dead by Daylight. He is flashy, colorful, and an idol of the K-Pop scene. However, that does not change the fact that he is a brutal killer. He uses throwing knives to take down survivors from a distance. He is of average height but has a reduced terror radius of 24 meters and a slower movement speed of 110%.

Special Ability: Crowd-Pleaser – The Trickster starts with 44 throwing knives. When you activate the ability button, the Trickster enters throwing mode and can then throw the blades. If the attack button is tapped briefly, the Trickster throws a single knife. If you hold the button down, the Trickster fires a whole volley. The more blades are thrown in quick succession, the higher the frequency of the knives and the more accurate their trajectory. However, the movement speed of the Trickster decreases with each knife thrown until the throwing mode ends again.

The knives are ballistic, but they have a relatively stable trajectory compared to the Huntress’s axes or the Clown’s bottles. Additionally, the knives fly extremely fast, making it nearly impossible for survivors to dodge them in open spaces.

In the beginning, the throwing rate is quite low, and the movement speed is still relatively high. However, the longer the ability is active, the faster the knives fly and the slower the Trickster moves.

When all throwing knives are used up, Crowd Pleaser can no longer be used. You will first need to collect new throwing knives. This is possible at any locker. Search a locker and your knife supplies will be automatically replenished. This does not apply if there is a survivor stuck in the locker. In that case, they will be captured just like other killers.

If the blades hit their target, they increase the bleeding indicator for the respective survivor. If enough hits are accumulated, the survivor will take damage.

If the Trickster successfully performs a melee attack on a survivor, the bleeding indicator will be completely emptied.

If the Trickster has hit enough players with Crowd Pleaser, he can activate the special ability “Main Event”. Here, he throws countless knives in quick succession, without using any ammunition. Additionally, he will not slow down and can continue the chase.

How to use Crowd Pleaser correctly? The correct use of the ability is quite simple and only requires a few hours of practice. Whenever you believe you can successfully throw at least 6 knives at a survivor without hitting them with a melee attack during that time, you should throw knives. Additionally, the following rules apply:

• Especially in open spaces or in a long corridor, this can be successful. Also, if several survivors are in one place.
• However, note that survivors quickly lose their bleeding indicators if they do not take enough consecutive hits to suffer a full point of damage.
• The first throwing knife of a throwing sequence is always without recoil. Therefore, it is more precise than all subsequent throwing knives.
• Whenever you have hooked a survivor, you should visit a locker afterward to replenish the knives.
• In general, it’s not worth interrupting chases to refill knives. Finish the chase one way or another.
• The ability “Main Event” can generally be used whenever it is ready, and there are multiple survivors in one place. Then the chances are good to damage at least one or two of them.

Who is Trickster suitable for? Currently, the Trickster is really only suited for fans who enjoy the aesthetics of the killer. Although the killer is easy to master, it is still challenging to be successful with him, even when played perfectly. Despite his buffs, he is still somewhat weak; however, in skilled hands, he is a killer that lives up to his name. However, there is likely no other killer that excites the ladies and gentlemen this much – because he is definitely sexy.
