The Pig / Pig
The Pig is better known as Amanda Young and hails from the SAW universe. She was the student of the notorious Jigsaw and collected his victims. Her attributes, such as terror radius size and movement speed, are average. Unlike many other killers, however, she has two abilities that allow her to pursue survivors and prolong the end of the game.
Special Ability: Jigsaw’s Baptism – Unlike almost all other killers in Dead by Daylight, The Pig can use two abilities. One of them increases her stealth and makes her scarier, while the other delays the game and can even instantly kill careless survivors.
Reverse Bear Traps: Survivors who are dying (that is, those who are on the ground) can have a reverse bear trap placed on their head. The trap starts inactive and becomes active once the next generator is fully repaired. Once active, a timer on the trap counts down, which is signaled by an increasingly faster beeping. If the timer reaches 0, the survivor is instantly killed.
Survivors can remove their reverse bear trap by searching various Jigsaw boxes on the map. One of the boxes contains the key that removes the trap.
Crouching: As a second ability, The Pig can crouch. This lowers her height, her movement speed, and disables her terror radius as well as the red haze before her eyes. In the crouched position, The Pig can perform a lunge attack, propelling herself forward several meters and wounding the first survivor she hits.

How to use Jigsaw’s Baptism correctly? The two abilities of the Pig have little in common and should therefore be considered separately.
Bear traps are only useful as long as generators still need to be repaired. Therefore, it makes sense to place them on survivors as early as possible.
A few tips about the inverted bear traps:
- Inverted bear traps beep when they are active. The killer can also hear the beeping and locate a survivor.
- The timer of the bear trap pauses as long as the survivor is in a chase. Therefore, it is not worth chasing a survivor with the bear trap to wait for it to trigger.
- Bear traps only rarely kill survivors. They are more a means to distract survivors and keep them away from generators.
- Players with active bear traps cannot leave the exit gate; they would die immediately. However, they can easily escape through the hatch.
Crouching can serve multiple purposes. Crouching can be suitable for searching for survivors unseen and sneaking up on them, but it comes with the drawback of slower movement speed. However, it can also be used as a “mind game” to confuse survivors. While crouching, the Pig is smaller, so survivors might not be able to spot the killer over barriers (like hay bales). A subsequent sprint attack can often score a hit.
In principle, one should not lose sight of the fact that survivors still need to be sacrificed “conventionally” on meat hooks. Players often eager for a kill through the inverted bear trap try to force it, causing rounds that were actually won to turn into a defeat.
Who is the Pig suitable for? Those who loved the SAW movies and delight in gruesome games will be happy with the Pig. The Pig combines jump scares with threatening abilities and is a killer that provides much enjoyment in skilled hands.
