In Destiny 2, the event “The Dawning” is just around the corner. Bungie has now announced the first details about this winter event. Fans can look forward to it during the Christmas season.
In keeping with the Christmas season, Destiny 2 will soon receive a festive look. With the weekly reset on December 11, the Tower will be decorated for Christmas, and the winter event “The Dawning” will begin. During these festivities, Guardians can secure numerous new gear items and cosmetic items in cool festive designs.
The Dawning in Destiny 2 – Everything you need to know about the winter event
When does the event start? The Dawning starts on December 11, 2018, at 6 PM. The winter festival will end on January 1, 2019, at 6 PM. Eva Levante will return to the Tower and will be your main point of contact for the duration of the event.
All Destiny 2 players can participate in The Dawning, regardless of any additional content. It is free content as part of Season 5.
What do Guardians have to do during The Dawning?
This is what you need to do: This year’s winter festival in Destiny 2 is all about baking. Eva Levante has all kinds of recipes and baking supplies. She will also provide the Guardians with an oven and some ingredients that the Guardians can mix and use to create different baked goods.
However, Eva will not fully equip you. To get more ingredients, Guardians will have to defeat enemies and complete various activities.
These are the rewards for The Dawning event
What is there as loot? During the event, you can make progress through baking and bounties and earn the following rewards:
- Upgrade cores
- Mods
- Legendary gear
- A new heavy machine gun – the “Avalanche.” This weapon will feature Random Rolls
- A festive sparrow
Additionally, you can earn new event-specific triumphs during The Dawning.
This is available in Eververse: For The Dawning event, Eververse will also receive some new items – including:
- Emotes
- Special multiplayer emotes. A new feature synchronizes you with your partner – for example during a high-five
- Ghost shells
- Ships
An exotic emote will be available exclusively for silver (real-money currency) as a direct purchase. Additionally, you can acquire cooking ingredients packages from Tess Everis in exchange for glimmer.
During the event, there will be double engram drops. This means that once players reach the maximum character level (depending on the content you own), every further level-up will reward an engram from The Dawning in addition to the glimmer engram.
The knockout system will be active again. This means you will not receive duplicates from the event engrams until you have collected all the new items.
