The Warlock’s Armor Exotics Ranked
The Warlock also received four new exotic armor pieces with Forsaken. How do they rank?
Rank 4 – Chromatic Fire

What can this exotic do? With this chest armor, precision kills with kinetic weapons create an elemental explosion. The element corresponds to that of your equipped focus.
What is this exotic good for? This exotic essentially grants the Dragonfly perk to all your kinetic weapons. However, as cool as explosions can be – Dragonfly is not necessarily among the top perks for weapons and is not a real game-changer.
While it can indeed be fun to play around with this on patrols in lost sectors or in heroic strikes, there are stronger exotic alternatives in the end-game PvE content.
In PvP, this perk can perform strongly, but you need a weapon with Dragonfly or the Pikass to benefit from a double explosion. With that, you can potentially eliminate not just your target but also nearby players.
Rank 3 – Controversial Hold

What can this exotic do? Charging the Void grenade with “Chaos Accelerant”, “Feeding the Void”, or “Handheld Supernova” grants you additional resistance against incoming damage. Additionally, hits with charged Void grenades return a random amount of grenade energy.
What is this exotic good for? If you like to use grenades in PvP, this exotic is perfect for you. With some grenade mods and appropriate armor perks, the gauntlets become a deadly tool that can shake up the Crucible.
However, if you do not rely heavily on grenades, this is not a good alternative for the exotic slot in PvP, as you must orient your entire build around this exotic to use it effectively. In PvE, there are rarely situations where this exotic can shine with its abilities.
Rank 2 – Phoenix Protocol

What can this exotic do? While you are standing in the Well of Radiance, kills and assists grant you Super energy back when wearing this chest armor.
What is this exotic good for? The focus of this exotic is on PvE, but there are rarely situations where you really need to place multiple Wells of Radiance in succession. In most content, you place one Well and move on shortly after. In raids, you usually use the Well during the damage phase, where you are dealing damage and not killing other enemies.
The need for multiple Wells in succession is therefore not very often present. However, in the rare cases where you can actually use multiple Wells, such as in a 100,000 point Nightfall or wave-based activities like the Forge, the Phoenix Protocol becomes quite valuable.
In PvP, the Phoenix Protocol has little usefulness.
Rank 1 – Geomag Stabilizers

What can this exotic do? This exotic is designed for the Chaos Reach super of the Warlock. When the Chaos Reach super energy is nearly full, wearing the Geomags will completely fill it by sprinting. You also extend the duration of Chaos Reach when you damage enemies with it.
What is this exotic good for? The Chaos Reach is currently a solid super of the Warlock, and if you use it, there is hardly a better option than the Geomag Stabilizers. This exotic is useful in both PvE and PvP.
On the last page, you will find the Forsaken exotics of the Hunter.
