What are Tides in Wuthering Waves? Tides is the in-game currency that you need for the gacha system in Wuthering Waves.
When summoning, you can pull from various banners in hopes of getting your desired character or weapon. Therefore, you need one Tide for each pull.

How to get Tides in Wuthering Waves
To obtain the valuable Tides in Wuthering Waves, you have various options to earn this resource. We focus on purely free-to-play options, where you don’t have to spend any real money.
Buy them in the in-game shop for other resources
You can farm other resources and then exchange them for Tides in the in-game shop. Astrite is your most important item here. You can obtain it from chests, as quest rewards, or by progressing your Echo collection.
You can always exchange 160x Astrite in the shop for a Tide of your choice. This option is available indefinitely.
Corals are also useful for acquiring Tides. Both Glowing Coral and Waving Coral can be obtained as byproducts from your pulls.
These can then be exchanged for new Tides once you have a certain amount:
- 70x Waving Coral (only 6x available for a certain period)
- 8x Glowing Coral
Tip: Visit an NPC named Ganxue (Gift Symbol) in Jinzhou in the game. Here you can exchange 5x Wood Shards for Glorious Tides. You need 50x Wood Shards to receive one Tide.
Use events and codes
Always be on the lookout for events (both in-game and on the web). You can often secure free rewards from them. For example, during the login event “Gifts of the Thawing Frost,” you will receive some Glorious and Radiant Tides in the game.

Level up in the battle pass and increase your alliance level
Up to level 50 in the battle pass in Wuthering Waves, known as the Pioneer Podcast, you will receive a Glorious Tide as a reward for each 10-tier level.
Additionally, when leveling up the alliance level, you will receive Glorious Tides at levels 5, 15, 25, and 35 during the Exploration event.
In the tier packages that you can pick up for free in the shop once you’ve reached a 10-tier level, there are also some Glorious and Radiant Tides included.
What is each Tide used for?
- Glorious Tide: Needed for pulls on the Beginner and Standard banners
- Radiant Tide: Needed for pulls on the Event banner
- Smithing Tide: Needed for pulls on the Weapon banner
