13. Plan C
This Exotic is about: The fusion rifle Plan C was designed as a contingency plan for when you were surprised and needed a quick getaway. Therefore, it emphasized fast weapon switching and significantly reduced reload time.
A return is completely unnecessary since the exotic property is now a normal perk on fusion rifles (High Time).
14. Insult
This Exotic is about: The shotgun Insult was notable for generating ammunition out of nothing. Every few seconds, a new shotgun shell was available.
In reality, the item was never really overpowered, and it is generally questionable whether Bungie wants to introduce such a mechanic again.
15. Universal Device
This Exotic is about: The shotgun Universal Device was a real exception in Destiny 1. Because it was classified as a primary weapon – which today corresponds to the kinetic slot.
A return is currently unnecessary. Unless it would use primary ammunition, which would probably destroy PvP.
16. Infinity
This Exotic is about: The fusion rifle Infinity fired automatically and fished ammunition out of nowhere. It broke the game a long time ago as one of the first overpowered weapons and was banished by Bungie never to return.
17. Zen Meteor
This Exotic is about: Zen Meteor was a sniper that fired highly explosive solar rounds. By achieving fast precision hits in succession, you briefly had access to an overpowering shot (was that the namesake meteor?).
Some players might be quite happy about a return for all platforms, as the weapon was PlayStation-exclusive.
18. Patience and Time
This Exotic is about: The sniper rifle Patience and Time was made for campers. Using the scope made you invisible, and the radar remained active.
Out of all the Destiny 1 Exotics, it’s one of the more popular ones and could certainly return at some point.
19. Icebreaker
This Exotic is about: Icebreaker hardly needs an introduction, but for formality’s sake, we will do so: A sniper rifle that generated ammunition from nowhere and thus became a mandatory weapon in many endgame activities.
Even today, Icebreaker remains one of the Guardians’ favorites. However, the associated style of play from hiding and slowly draining bosses’ energy from afar no longer really fits into the current Destiny 2.
20. No Land Beyond
This Exotic is about: The sniper No Land Beyond was a primary weapon in Destiny 1. Its story is special: Once denounced as the worst Exotic in the game, it then skyrocketed in popularity in PvP. The reason was changes to special ammunition, from which this weapon was not affected.
Theoretically, the weapon can already be found in Destiny 2. But only in the hands of the NPC Devrim Kay in the EDZ.
21. Beyond
This Exotic is about: If you don’t know what the sniper rifle Beyond could do, no one would blame you. If we had to guess, this would be the least known weapon on the list. No one is looking forward to a return.
Oh yes, while crouching the zoom increased and precise kills triggered a blinding flash. No wonder no one remembers.
22. Promise of the Outcast
This Exotic is about: The Fallen pistol Promise of the Outcast always started with a full magazine and offered homing shots.
The other two Fallen weapons Lord of Wolves and Queenbreaker are already in Destiny 2 for a while, and the next expansion sends us into battle against the Fallen – so a return would make sense.
23. Trespasser
This Exotic is about: The pistol Trespasser entered the Destiny stage very late. The weapon was quite strong with its burst shots, but wasn’t a crowd puller either.
We can only speculate about a return, but in Season 11 another Exotic pistol is waiting for you. And it looks really powerful: Expert says in Destiny 2: Next weapon Exotic will be “God Tier!”
On the next and last page, you’ll find the really heavy artillery. The start will be exotic twins.
