7. X-Men
Release: 2000
2000, 8 years before the launch of the MCU, X-Men was released, the first part of a large series. The iconic characters were well cast, and the story largely still works well today. The opposing sides of Professor X and Magneto are both understandable. The question of mutants’ rights is the focus here.
X-Men also looks like a real 2000s film, which evokes nostalgia. The action, the style, and the costumes may be somewhat silly; in a world of polished MCU films, X-Men still has a unique style. Huge credit also goes to Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, who obviously have fun here and give the characters the necessary presence.
6. X-Men: First Class
Release: 2011
Such a prequel shouldn’t really work, but X-Men: First Class does. The film relocates the story to the time of the Cuba Crisis and works largely like a spy movie. The focus on a more naive Professor X is fun and interesting, and the antagonists also have interesting motivations.
Again, the core of the X-Men is understood here. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence are also really good and capture the characters well.
5. Deadpool 3
Release: 2024
The most recent film on this list is Deadpool 3. In the film, you can feel how much Reynolds loves Deadpool and Wolverine, a meeting that fans have long wanted. The cameos are fun and many jokes as well.
Despite the boring villains and critiques, the film is a fun experience. One can feel the love for mutants and Marvel films, which have actually been long forgotten thanks to the MCU. Especially in the cinema with many viewers, it’s a true joy.

4. Deadpool 2
Release: 2018
Deadpool 2 is the best Deadpool film because it is the most chaotic. The jokes work best here, and the side characters perform really well alongside Reynolds. With Zazie Beetz and Josh Brolin, you can also just see how much fun they have with their roles.
The story is silly and never tries to be anything serious, which fits Deadpool perfectly. The villains are also the best in the trilogy. What we got with Wolverine and Deadpool this year, we had in 2018 with Cable and Deadpool.
