How was this list created? This list is a ranking of all the movies that actively address X-Men or mutants. We also count Deadpool in. Movies that include mutants as a cameo or in an end-credit scene will be ignored.

14. The New Mutants
Release: 2020
A horror movie in the X-Men universe sounds really exciting, especially in the superhero mush. Unfortunately, The New Mutants is not a good movie. The effects are poor.
There is never any horror, and the story doesn’t work either, even though there are cool mutants like Magik or Sunspot.
13. X-Men: Dark Phoenix
Release: 2019
The second failed attempt to bring the iconic Phoenix saga to the screen. The film tries to tell too much in too little time, which means that the tragic story of Jean Grey never gets to breathe.
The humanity of the various X-Men never gets the attention it deserves. The film tries too hard to be an MCU spectacle.
12. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Release: 2009
The first solo film of Wolverine is also his worst. The tragedy of the character is completely ignored here, to create a mediocre superhero film by the numbers. It attempts to tell the rivalry between Wolverine and Sabretooth, but that doesn’t work.
Seeing Deadpool portrayed in the film still hurts today.
