Albion Online receives a major update in August called “Rise of Avalon”. It includes the Corrupted Dungeons, which will be the new PvPvE content of Albion. And fans of Dark Souls will find the PvP system familiar.
What are the Corrupted Dungeons? The Dungeons are a new feature in the upcoming update “Rise of Avalon”. They are PvPvE content designed for solo players and were implemented at the request of the community, according to the developers.
As you explore the open world of Albion, you will encounter the entrances to the Corrupted Dungeons. Before entering, you will need to choose a difficulty level.
Low difficulty means no full-loot PvP, which means you will not lose your belongings after a PvP defeat. However, the rewards are considerably worse than at higher difficulties with full-loot PvP.

To complete the dungeon, you must fight through hordes of demons and cleanse the area. You collect “Infamy” points for each kill and once you have collected enough, the final boss of the dungeon will appear.
When you defeat the boss, you will receive loot that depends on the difficulty and your Infamy rank that you retain after the dungeon.
Invasions into Other Players’ Dungeons
What is the similarity to Dark Souls? The PvP part of the Corrupted Dungeons works as follows: In the dungeons, you will find “Demonic Shrines”, with which you can initiate an invasion and invade other players’ dungeons to fight them.
To do this, you need to register at the shrine, and the system regularly checks if it can find a suitable PvP partner. Once that happens, the attacking player will be teleported to the dungeon of their opponent, where the duel will take place – similar to how it is in Dark Souls games.
The defending player can either accept and fight the duel or has the option to expel the opponent from their dungeon. To do this, the defending player must destroy all demonic shards that appear in their dungeon along with the attacker.
This is how the PvP system is meant to gain more depth: A series of features will ensure that the invasions in the Corrupted Dungeons are exciting. When the attacker lands in their opponent’s dungeon, they do not necessarily appear directly in front of the other player.
The opponents must first find each other, but they are not marked on the map. Instead, one can see the positions of the slain NPC monsters in the dungeon and try to guess where the other player is located.
Additionally, there are “Watcher Demons” in the dungeons that patrol the area. If players are not careful and enter the line of sight of these demons, their position on the map will be marked and they will become visible.
Furthermore, the developers have placed a large number of traps and dangers in the dungeons that players can exploit to their advantage during PvP duels by luring their opponents into them.
What rewards are there in PvP? Players who successfully engage in duels in the Corrupted Dungeons will receive rewards for their victories. On the one hand, you can deprive your opponent of their belongings if they play at a high difficulty that allows full loot.
On the other hand, the winner receives a boost to their Infamy after a duel. This adds up and increases their ranking, which in turn leads to better rewards in the Corrupted Dungeons.
