The German MMORPG Albion Online continues to benefit from the launch of the new server in Europe. While developers Sandbox Interactive are celebrating player records on Steam, there is a serious problem in one country.
What records has Albion Online achieved? Since the launch of the first European server for Albion Online on April 29, 2024, an increasing number of players have gathered in the eponymous fantasy world of Albion. The new peak on Steam is 27,208 concurrent players.
Currently, there are almost consistently more than 20,000 players logged into Albion Online through Valve’s distribution platform on a daily basis. This does not include players using the regular Windows/Linux client or the mobile versions. It is only a matter of time before the Berlin developers release an official success report regarding the launch of the EU server.
There is even a dedicated trailer for the EU server of Albion Online:
Current Problems: One Country Blocks Albion Online
What is the serious problem? In the official forum of the MMORPG, the developers stated this week that they are currently working to resolve some issues that are slightly tarnishing the successful launch of the EU server.
Particularly noteworthy is the following message: “Albion is blocked in Indonesia. We have contacted the Indonesian authorities to clarify the situation. While a solution is being worked on, you can log in using a VPN. After entering the game, the VPN service can be turned off.”
A problem that had led to increased crashes on mobile devices has already been resolved. Update the MMORPG via your store to install the corresponding hotfix.
What distinguishes the MMORPG? Albion Online is a sandbox MMORPG in an open, medieval fantasy world. The game features a classless combat system as well as a player-driven economy, where almost every item is crafted by players.
Thanks to numerous updates, there is now a wide variety of content for solo players, fans of small groups, and those who prefer to dive into large battles. Join a guild, build a guild hall, and conquer entire cities, which then have to pay taxes to you.
However, you may be deterred by the outdated battles and the colorful, not up-to-date graphics. If you are looking for another MMORPG to spend your time in: The best new MMORPGs of the last 5 years on Steam
