The big update 6.2 that AION fans in Germany are waiting for is set to be released this fall. This will make the MMORPG more accessible to new players. The patch is expected to make many things like before. In Korea, it led to a resurgence of the MMORPG.
AION is going back to how it used to be
The extensive update is coming. As announced by the development team, patch 6.2 will be released either this September or in October for AION in Germany and Europe.
The team is working hard to release the patch as soon as possible: September or October is considered a very realistic release date.
AION is being simplified. Over the years, more and more changes and innovations have been introduced into the MMORPG, making it difficult for newcomers to gain a foothold. It wasn’t always like this.
Especially at the beginning, AION was popular among players because it allowed for a relatively easy entry and didn’t play too complicated. With the upcoming update 6.2, the developers now want to go back to the roots.
Everything back to the beginning. The upcoming simplifications will not only be welcomed by newcomers. Veterans are also excited that AION is to become the game it once was. This includes, among other things:
- A classification of equipment into three new categories
- Items will have a PvE or PvP focus
- The breakthrough system will be removed
- The level cap will be raised to 80
- Some zones will be removed from the game based on feedback from Korean players
Patch 6.0 or 6.2? There is currently some confusion regarding the version number of the update. Originally, 6.0 was to be the big patch that simplifies the game. However, it is now being referred to as 6.2.
As it has been revealed, the European version of AION will skip version number 6.0 and instead release patch 6.2, the major update, which will come with several other changes.
In Korea, the patch was well received. AION was switched to a free-to-play game, and the revenue increased significantly.
