For months, rumors and various leaks about Ayato Kamisato circulated in the community, but now he finally has an official face. Genshin Impact has now announced the new character, who will probably join the game in Patch 2.6.
Who is Ayato Kamisato? Ayato Kamisato is the leader of the Kamisato Clan, which also includes his younger sister Ayaka Kamisato. While she takes care of the clan’s appearance and representation, Ayato works behind the scenes.
He handles the organizational and political tasks of the clan. Ayato does not really enjoy his role and sees it simply as his duty as the head.
Up until now, players have not seen a glimpse of Ayato Kamisato, but that is now history, as Genshin Impact has finally announced him:
Just like his little sister, Ayato Kamisato wields a one-handed weapon. However, he does not use the Cryo element, but Hydro to attack enemies. What rarity the character will have and what his skills will look like is not yet officially known. However, there are already some leaks that reveal a bit more.
Leaks about Ayato Kamisato

Ayato Kamisato is said to be a 5-star character and will be available in the first banner of Patch 2.6. Additionally, an artifact set is supposed to be released specifically for him (via reddit).
These are the skills he is said to possess (via reddit):
- You collect “Posture” stacks with the 2nd and 4th normal attack, with a maximum of 4 stacks.
- If you hold Ayato’s heavy attack, he performs a slash forward and uses the “Posture” stacks.
- Depending on how many stacks you consume, the slash will change. Its size, damage, and whether it takes on the Hydro attribute will be determined by that.
- Ayato’s skill rotation is said to apply Hydro to enemies about three times and reliably leave them with the “wet” status.
- The elemental skill “Shuumatsu Art – Cicada Shell” leaves behind an “empty shell” that attracts and distracts enemies. Additionally, it grants you 2 “Posture” stacks. The shell does not attack or deal damage to enemies, but generates elemental particles when attacked by enemies.

What do the fans say? Players express their excitement for the head of the Kamisato Clan. Within minutes, he made it to Twitter trends and is gathering likes and retweets.
This is not surprising, as fans have been waiting for months for a face or more information about him, as it has been known for a long time that Ayaka has an older brother. Players wanted to see him and have him as a playable character in Genshin Impact.
Since it became known that Ayaka has a brother who could potentially be played, there are players saving for him. Recently, he excited fans with a cameo appearance in Itto’s trailer, where his voice could be briefly heard.
