For a long time, PvP fans have been waiting for this change, and now Blizzard has reacted. The grind for the PvP essences in World of Warcraft is significantly smaller.
In World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, players are currently dedicating themselves to various grinds. While some are farming for the cool bee mount, other players are still collecting the missing essences for the Heart of Azeroth. These provide special bonuses and active abilities that have a strong impact in both PvE and PvP.
The PvP grind is now lower: However, the grind for the PvP essences has been long and tedious, and has been criticized by fans for months. Now there was a small hotfix that drastically reduced the necessary honor for unlocking. This concerns the essences Artwork of Time (Healing), Blood of the Enemy (DD), and Sphere of Suppression (Tank):
- The achievement “Battleground Brawler” (Essences at Rank 2) now requires only 10,000 honor instead of 15,000 honor.
- The achievement “Battleground Tactician” (Essences at Rank 3) now requires only 30,000 honor instead of 50,000 honor.
Thus, the grind has been reduced by 33% and 40%, so significantly fewer battlegrounds need to be completed than before.
If you now have “too much” honor due to these changes, you just need to win one more honor point for the achievement to be updated.
WoW had worsened the problem before: Before this nerf of the necessary honor, Blizzard had actually increased the requirements for the grind. For instance, they removed the bonus that existed for mercenaries. Additionally, the honor acquired through weekly quests was reduced and no longer counted towards the necessary amount for the essences.
According to Blizzard, it was a bug, but players saw the change as a direct nerf. This led to many players complaining, as they now needed even longer for this already quite time-consuming task.
