In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War a player started with an unusual controller. The streamer literally “rocked” the game with a guitar and even succeeded in multiplayer mode despite extreme disadvantages!
Unusual controllers are still very popular among some streamers. Players have already played games with potatoes. In the case of CoD Modern Warfare, a gamer played with a drum set. He even managed some crazy sniper kills with that.
Especially with the drummer, the streamer “The StevieP” probably thought: “I can do that too!”. But instead of connecting a drum set, he connected a guitar as a controller.
The guitar comes from the game “Rockband” and TheStevieP tried to play the zombie mode of CoD Cold War with it. Here’s how it worked.
Guitar Controller Prohibits Grenades and Reloading
This is how the guitar controller works: To play with the guitar, TheStevieP used the following setup:
[Forward] running is down on the “Strum Bar” [These are the “strings” of the Rockband controller], backward movement is up on the Strum Bar. To look around: Red is left, Yellow is right, Blue is up, Orange is down. And with Green, you shoot.
With this, TheStevieP can run, look around, and shoot. What he cannot do, among other things:
- Jump
- Crouch
- Throw grenades
- Reload(!)
This is how the guitar gameplay against zombies went: The control options are quite limited, so TheStevieP played it safe and first took on a round of zombies. Mindless undead can also be taken down with a guitar.
The StevieP just ran around the horde of zombies and whacked them with the guitar as soon as he had a good position. When his weapon ran out of ammo, he automatically reloaded, which replaced the missing reload button.
Streamer kills enemies with guitar: At some point, however, TheStevieP wanted to test how his guitar skills would fare in a fight against real players in the multiplayer of CoD Cold War. He was aware that he had little chance in the wild battles of Cold War with his guitar setup, so he said beforehand:
If I get even one kill in multiplayer, I will laugh! The person I kill like this deserves to be laughed at!
As expected, TheStevieP took a beating in a multiplayer match on the Miami map. But then an enemy ran wild at him down a staircase and didn’t hit him. The streamer turned around, took a non-lethal hit, aimed, and with a press of the green button, he dealt a fatal blow to the opponent at close range.
“Yes, that’s how it’s done!”, the streamer exclaimed joyfully, laughing heartily at his success and the shame of his opponent, and was completely over the moon.
The action also delighted various fans on reddit, who rewarded the post with nearly 8,000 upvotes and over 300 comments.
