The next goal of the developer BioWare is clear. All efforts are now focused on the next part of Mass Effect.
A few days ago, the RPG Dragon Age: The Veilguard was launched and sparked a lot of discussions, as opinions are very divided. Topics that are only indirectly related to the game, are causing review bombing and then criticism about the deletion of these opinions.
But for BioWare, it seems that the chapter of Dragon Age is temporarily closed, as there is a new goal: Mass Effect 5.

Where was this said? In a conversation with the magazine Rolling Stone, John Epler, the Creative Director behind Dragon Age: The Veilguard, spoke with the journalist and answered some questions.
When asked about the future of the studio – and whether there would be DLCs for Dragon Age – Epler explained that the focus will now be on the next big project: Mass Effect 5.
What has been said about Mass Effect 5? There weren’t many details yet – no concrete information at all. However, Epler responded to the question of what a multiplayer game would look like. He explained that you can also tell a great story in a multiplayer game. One problem, however, would be if players share the world and it is in different states:
It is possible to tell a strong story in a multiplayer game. Final Fantasy XIV does an excellent job in that. However, multiplayer also brings some complications regarding the state of the world. I make a big decision for my world and the world changes.
Something that only works to a limited extent in a multiplayer game, if other players have not yet made that choice – or make a completely different choice.
When will there be new information about Mass Effect? More information about the next part of the Mass Effect series may be available in just a few days. Because on November 7 is the “N7 Day,” referencing the N7 units in Mass Effect.
Here, BioWare usually celebrates the franchise, sometimes showing new concept art or releasing plans for how Mass Effect will continue. However, many fans are still skeptical as to whether Mass Effect can finally “make a comeback,” since the last major installment of the series, Mass Effect: Andromeda, has fallen far short of expectations and was a bitter disappointment for many fans.
