Bethesda has announced a new PvP mode for Fallout 76. It now also has a rough start date. However, as not the entire community is happy about it, a community manager promises additional PvE content.
The developers of Fallout 76 are currently in active communication with the community. Under a reddit post, community manager Valseek commented with some details about the upcoming PvP mode and promised more content. All this is set to launch in March 2019.
PvP and PvE Content for Fallout 76
What PvE content is coming? It is not yet known which content is planned for the PvE of Fallout 76. Valseek only wrote:
We see the considerations shared by those who want to see more PvE content. Although I cannot reveal more yet, I can say that the survival mode is not the only content coming in March. Stay tuned!
In the community, the statement sparked wild speculations. One of the most popular considerations is a co-op mode. This would be a version of the game that is separate from the adventure mode, akin to the PvP mode. However, PvP would be entirely disabled here.
Some possible features in Fallout 76 have already been leaked through the game files. Five of these are particularly exciting to our author Benedict.
This is the PvP mode: Already at the end of 2018, Bethesda announced a PvP mode for Fallout 76. This aims to differ from the standard game and be accessible separately through the game menu. The key features are:
- Open PvP: Every player outside the group is hostile (no “consensual” PvP)
- No revenge option, respawn only in C.A.M.P. or Vault 76
- A leaderboard
- Possible additional rules, such as the loss of resources
Before the actual launch of the “survival” mode, there will be a beta. This begins in March 2019. More information about the PvP mode of Fallout 76 can be found in our article.
What the community says: Many players are still critical of the PvP mode. They believe it is not a good idea that characters from the adventure mode (standard game) can be transferred. This would make many players too strong in PvP.
However, the news of new PvE content is well received. For both modes, the community advises Bethesda to take their time. User dapper32 writes: “Please, take your time. Don’t rush. You can’t afford another early launch. The community won’t take that well.”
