Fans thought this might be the announcement that Nickmercs could also switch to YouTube Gaming. After all, he would be not the first streamer to switch to YouTube. He dramatically shows his decision for Twitch and against YouTube in a video depicting him as a Roman legionnaire.

What sums of money were involved and what demands had to be met for Nickmercs to stay on Twitch is unclear. A switch to the competitor YouTube Gaming seems to not have been an option for the US streamer.

Details about Nickmercs’ new Twitch contract are not known. However, for the livestreaming platform, the signing of this contract should be a reason for joy. For some time now, more and more Twitch streamers have been migrating to other platforms. After the closure of Microsoft’s Mixer platform, some returned while others went to YouTube.
With 6.2 million followers, Nickmercs is a huge asset for Twitch after big names like TimTheTatman and Dr.Disrespect have already left.
Who is Nickmercs anyway?
The streamer is one of the biggest in the world and is also a well-known figure in the gaming community. Earlier this year, he became a co-owner of the famous FaZe Clan and even appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Nickmercs is also known for his barbecue in Tampa Bay Stadium, to which he had invited 6,000 people (via youtube.com).
Among the games the streamer plays on Twitch are Fortnite, Apex Legends, but most notably Call of Duty: Warzone. On average, around 60,000 fans watch him. It will be interesting to see how his viewer numbers behave after the short break.
