In other MMORPGs standard, finally also in World of Warcraft. With just one click, you can leave annoying disconnects behind.
On the PTR of Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination, a new version of the update has been installed. The update brings a lot of small balance changes, but also a fresh feature that makes one wonder why it has come only now. But better late than never, there’s now a simple “Reconnect” button when you get kicked out of the game.
Reconnect button makes disconnects more pleasant: If you experience a disconnect in World of Warcraft in the future – no matter the reason – you will be thrown back to the start screen as before. However, in Patch 9.1, a large “Reconnect” button will be waiting for you, allowing you to log back into the game with a click.
What does this bring? Basically, one thing: time savings. Because after a disconnect, reconnecting in World of Warcraft can take a bit of time. Not only do you have to manually re-enter the password, but in some cases, you also have to confirm access with the authenticator (e.g., on your smartphone). Often, this simply does not work.
Many players report that they always have to completely close the client and reopen it through the Battle.net app to get back into the game.
After all, these seconds can definitely decide whether you finish successfully or fail during a hectic dungeon visit in the “Mythic+” area.
Especially useful for streamers: All streamers and live content creators are likely to gain an additional benefit from the “Reconnect” button. Because they often had the problem that when a disconnect occurs, the WoW start screen appears, and their email address is publicly visible.
Since there are often one or two trolls in the streamer community, they could of course do a lot of nonsense with the email address.
This annoyance is also likely to be somewhat mitigated in the future.
A small but fine change – but it was somehow time after 17 years, wasn’t it?
