The end of Season 19 is over and leaves many Guardians with dropped jaws. Why the final finale in the last Season of Destiny 2: Witch Queen was so meaningful, we show you here on MeinMMO.
What happened at the end of Season 19? Those who completed the quest “More than a Weapon” could automatically start the last mission “Abominable Imperative.” After completing this, a cinematic for the conclusion of Season 19 soon followed. We embed it here for you:
The cinematic not only caused a lot of goosebumps but also left Guardians speechless and gave an overwhelming feeling that the end of Destiny 2 is looming.
After 9 years, the Traveler leaves Earth, but only almost
What did Guardians fear? Those who have followed the story of Destiny 2 know that Guardians cannot exist without the Traveler. In the past, the white floating sphere has blessed extraterrestrial life and advanced these beings scientifically as well as biologically with its light.
But when Darkness came too close to the Traveler, he vanished and left the extraterrestrial life forms to fend for themselves. A small sacrifice for the Traveler to live.
In the cutscene, the Traveler now moved away from the Last City and positioned itself before the Warmind satellites. However, these were destroyed after Rasputin was sacrificed. Now the white, powerful sphere hovers over Earth, far enough away from the Last City that you can no longer see it.
Is the Traveler gone? No, not directly. He has left the Last City and is located far above it. Why the Traveler has moved away now is not quite clear. Either:
- He wanted to protect the Last City so that it wouldn’t be harmed by Eramis’s reckless attack.
- He wanted to disappear but was intercepted by the Warmind elite and realized that escaping from the Black Fleet is no longer possible.
In any case, it is clear that the saga between Light and Darkness will soon come to an end. The Traveler will not be able to hide again. The Witness has set its sights on him and will now do everything to eradicate the Light and everything that should not exist.
What do you think the Traveler intended? Was it a selfless act with protective motives or did the Traveler actually want to escape again? Let us know in the comments.
