At CitizenCon, Cloud Imperium Games announced the upcoming launch of the highly anticipated ship Anvil Carrack for Star Citizen. But why is this ship so popular?
What is the Anvil Carrack? The ship was announced in 2013 as part of a crowdfunding stretch goal. It is designed to be a spacecraft that you can fly either alone (with the help of an AI) or with a crew. The ship is tailored for space exploration.
To achieve this, the Anvil Carrack has a particularly large tank to cover long distances. Additionally, it is especially effective when jumping through hyperspace. Originally, it was a military ship, but it can now be acquired by any pilot.
The ship is designed for a crew to be away for extended periods. For example, there is also medical provision on board.
Soon you will be able to fly the highly anticipated ship
When is it coming? At the CitizenCon 2019, it was stated that the ship will be introduced into the alpha of Star Citizen in February 2020.
Why are players so excited about the upcoming launch? The ship was announced six years ago by Chris Roberts‘ Cloud Imperium Games, and even back then, players were eager about the concept.
For some, the Anvil Carrack is comparable to the ship Serenity from the cult science fiction series Firefly (2002). Fans of Star Citizen are eager to fly the spacecraft and add it to their collection.
In essence, it represents the epitome of Star Citizen: exploration, adventure, and challenges that can be tackled alone or in a group with a good crew.
Additionally, the Anvil Carrack comes with a small exploration ship that functions like a shuttle.
Players are already excited
What do the players think about it? Fans are, of course, excited that they will soon be able to fly the Anvil Carrack, something they have been waiting for so long.

Thus, the Anvil Carrack is well received. However, fans will have to wait until February 2020 before they can fly the ship. After six years, this is now in sight.
